Did the decisions matter?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
Ok so now 400 days has been released somebody tell me (without spoilers!), do decisions from season 1 actually make a significant difference. Because lets face it choices in season 1 didn't influence the story, the key things still happened. Ben's fate was the same, Kenny's fate was the same, as was Lilly's and Lee's etc etc.
Basically I lost all my saved data and don't want to replay it if the choices have stupidly minimal impact in 400 days. So someone let me know. Thanks in advance. And I like I said no spoilers!

They have a small inpact, maybe more then the main game but not dramatically, I do not see how one mans life will affect five other lives over the course of a year.

It's near to nothing, i recall only 2-3 decisions that actually changed something. But i would suggest playing S1 again before S2 comes out.

The decisions don't matter that much, mostly the consequences boil down to small details. Over the entirety of season 1 I can think of only two decisions that did change something significantly in the later episodes. Can't reveal them, since this is the no-spoiler forum, but I reckon people can guess. Not that the rest of the choices are meaningless, most of them serve to develop Lee's character in the direction you want, and some of them affect your relationship and dialogue with other characters.

Then again, while I, along with many others, would like to see choices that change the story in significant ways, that is unlikely to happen, because the developers probably think it a waste to split the story in different branches, because that probably means most of the players will never see them. Of all the games that offered you choices I've played, only the Witcher 2 seemed to truly have choices with story-changing consequences, where a choice in chapter 1 would make you play chapter 2 in two very different locations and with totally different characters and events. Still, much as I would like to see something similar in Season 2 of the Walking Dead, I recognize that as a very unlikely thing.

    The decisions mattered to me

If you really want to know, it is not worth re-playing the whole season 1 for this DLC. There are only 2 references, not even significant, which doesn't impact the story at all. They are so small you might not even catch them. Telltale loves to advertise this feature out but in reality it doesn't make any difference. Hell, I'm not even sure decisions in season 1 will significantly affect season 2. They didn't within season 1 so we kindda know what to expect. I loved the game and DLC but that whole thing about decisions being significant is BS.

To me it was more sentimental then anything else, yes I know they did not affect the game by a whole lot but name me a game were every choice mattered? By the way this has kind of been talked about to death already.
