I've been tasked with making copies of a DVD transfer of some family home video for my wife's extended family. Instead of just making direct copies, I figured I'd fix some problems with the video here and there. Come to find out that the aspect ratio of the original transfer is 704x480. Having to fiddle about with encoders and junk, I think I'm learning more about TV broadcast resolutions and standard definition video formats than I expected.
