Were you there from the start or did you come late to the party?

Just curious...

Edit: My Story.

When it first came out I read the review for Episode 1 on OXM - it was favourable so I downloaded the demo and liked it...

I knew what TWD was from an acquaintance in my old art class who did some work based on the Comic. I later saw an episode of the Show on late-night TV (wasn't my cup of tea).

I was bored one day and used my spare Microsoft points to buy Episode 1. I played it that night.
I was so impressed I downloaded Episode 2 straight away. I played it the next.
I didn't have to wait as long for Episode 3. Read the comic between episodes.

TL;DR: Half-way-through.

And here I am...

I gave it a go because I'm a big Telltale fan and my brother bought one of the episodes and said it was worth a play...

I watched a walkthrough of Episodes 1-3 and figured I should just get the game for myself so I got in on Xbox and now I have it on Steam!

Funny enough I got episode one a day late, was suspicous of it and thought it'd just be a reimagining of the TV show or something, I was angry at first that it wasnt following Rick, so downloaded the trail. Loved it and downloaded episode one, from then On I followed it from on time obviously.

i heard about it before it came out, i wanted to wait until they all came out, because i still wasn't convinced about the episodic format and didn't like the wait between episodes, but i saw a it in a few lets play videos (i didn't watch them) so i just impulse bought it on steam at episode 2

I started playing when the 2nd episode came out.

I played the demo as soon as it came out. A few days later, I got enough money to buy the whole season and played each episode on the days they've each been released.

I got the first episode about a week or two after it came out and I've purchased every other episode on day one.

I heard a lot of great reviews for the first episode back in April 2012. After playing it, I just waited for each subsequent episode to come out.

Read a few things about it a few days before Episode 1 came out, and tentatively downloaded Episode 1. Loved it, so I just got each Episode as it came out.

I was on a zombie binge last year- had just finished whatever issue Kirkman had completed up to the time; read WWZ; read the zombie survival guide, when this came around I was like 'oh hell ya'; bought the entire season before 1st ep was available

Long story, heard about it on some interview on Xbox Live in late April, was not a fan of the graphics and I had never heard of Telltale, in May I was just browsing the market place and found it was out, downloaded since I had nothing to do and because I liked the show, not read the comics at that point. I was not a fan of it from the start but once you fight your first zombie I started to like it and then Clementine showed up and I really liked and the rest is history, funny that one of my favorite games of all time started out with me hating it, same thing happened with Bioshock Infinite, liked it after playing but my views were negative, funny how things turn out in the end.

I was waiting around for episode 1 and have paid for and played every part since. Oh yeah, Im a tv show fan first. Thats how I got into the WD universe. TV show, then comics, then the game.

I wasn't familiar with the show or comic at the time. I recall being interested in the game's story concept early on, but ended up waiting until some people's praise/commiseration for the ending reminded me to look into it.

Marathoned the whole season when I got the chance.

I hadn't even heard of it until last month. I read it had gotten all these awards and figured it was worth a shot. (Hell yes it was worth it.) I'm glad I didn't have to wait for the episodes to come out.

I've played em all as they came out. And I lurked here and watched people freaking out about release dates, and delays, and just "guessing when episode X will come out".

Looks like we'll have plenty of time to be stuck in the same boat for season 2. Hahahahh...

I played the first 4 episodes about a week before the 5th one came out.

I was on board from the get go, I had played back to the future and i think i was poking around that forum when i saw that they were making the walking dead game. I was so excited. I waited months before the first episode came out, than once that came out and i played it I was hooked, than episode 2 took forever to be released:mad: but it finally was and all was good:)

really cant wait for the next season:D

First played the demo 3 days after ep 1 release. I was looking for free demos then I saw this game. My first thoughts were "Man, I bet this game's gonna suck balls". Then I played it, and I was wrong. I was actually interested in it. So I bought Episode 1 and that made me a fan. :D

I decided to get the game after EP5 and all was released. Remembered seeing the trailer for EP5 and going ":O" but only started playing a few months later... or before 400 days.

Did the same thing with TES series.

I think its best to play them as they come out because you then have something to talk about and look forward to.

After Episode 5's release, don't judge me, I got my PS3 around that time.

When I saw the graphics and who the developer was (att, did anyone know what TT was) I thought it was stupid. But on release day I saw how cheap the whole season was (20$) I bought the season pass and it was the best purchase I ever made.

I had jumped on the TellTale wagon with a promo code for Back to the Future Episode 1 (before it was free), and got the entire season. Got into all three seasons of Sam & Max as well, so I liked what TellTale was doing.

I was only familiar with the first season of The Walking Dead, and while I liked the demo, I wasn't in a position where I could play my console as much as I'd want (someone else's TV), and my PC wouldn't run it as good as I'd like. When the retail version was announced, I was hoping I'd get it for Christmas but didn't. Fortunately, right after that there was an XBLA sale with the entire season for $10.

Same here. So, that should have been around the time episode 5 was released, if not a month or so after.

I couldn't get it at first, because my computer wasn't good enough to run it. I have been following the game since episode one, though. I watched a couple of walkthroughs of episodes one and two, and then got the game :)

I was hype as fuck from the moment I found this was going to be a thing. I remained hype and spread the word until release where I discovered the game wasn't coming to my homeland. Then I waited and waited and waited some more. Almost a year passed until I could ride this Disco Train.

I came very late, towards the end of last year, to be exact, a few days before new year/ after Christmas eve, so I played it through in two parts. EP 1 on one day, because it was on xbl for free that day, and the others the following day, because I had to get MS points.
Playing it in (almost) one piece has that great "wow... that was one hell of a ride" feeling to it, when you sit there at 7:30 in the AMs, just having it finished, and thinking: "Well... shit, so much for a good long sleep." so... uh... shoot me!

    I won't good story.

Thanks :D Oh by the way I've done as you and Zev said, currently downloading Spec Ops: The Line, it's cheap on Steam right now afterall, and can't wait to play it.

Trust me, you won't regret it at all, the multyplayer is not good but is better then COD.

Came to the board after EP2 was released.

It's good that your here now, but for me the best thing about the game was coming here and talking about it before the next episode was released. Gave me more time to think about whats going on and gave me more time to respect the characters.

After EP3 I really grew attached to the remaining characters and didn't want any of them to die knowing full well this is TWD and people die left, right, and center. The comics never got me to feel this way, neither did the show.

    Telltale does TWD best.

That was the best part, just talking about the newest Episode and thinking about what was to come, and I once thought no one would die. I mean the first two Episodes no one you cared about died, so I thought that my favorites would be okay, I was confident going into Episode 3 but that is just one reason losing Carley was so hard, I never thought it would happen, I was in disbelieve when she died and when Duck and Katjaa died, by the end I thought everyone would be dead by the end, and it seems they almost did just that.

Looking forward to the start of Season 2 for that reason, so I can try and play it like you guys did.

That's how I feel as well, I loved the show till mid season 3, and am still reading the comics, but neither was as immersive and emotional and perhaps even interesting as the game.

Bought the season pass as soon as Episode 5 was released. Had heard good things about it after Ep 4's release but decided I might as well wait and play them all.

Will definitely be playing Season 2's episodes as soon as they release though.

From the beggining! I remember finishing the 1st ep and thinking how underrated this game is going to be. I'm so glad I was wrong.

I came a little late. I finally got around to trying it about the time Episode 2: Starved for help came out

Honestly I thought this game looked like shit when I first saw gameplay for it. I completely ignored it until a day after release of Episode 1 when two of my friends (who don't read the comics or watch the TV show unlike me, so I was initially interested until I saw gameplay) bought it and told me it was good. I tried out the demo and loved it, then bought Episode 1 straight after I played the demo. I think the only complaint I had in the demo was random camera angles however when I played Episode 1 I got used to it quickly. After that I have bought every episode at the day of release and plan to do the same for Season 2.
