Larry = Merle?
I just got the idea that Larry is like the Telltale equivalent of Merle Dixon because they are both hated by everyone, they are both in their 50's, they both have one thing in the world that they still care about, and they both never get along with anyone. It's just an idea though.

Larry is just an old asshole, not a psycho.
This. Nate is the Merle of the video games. Hope he returns
I disagree completely. Merle was never crazy in the sense that he didn't know what he was doing. He's a racists who knew exactly what he felt and believed. Merle's beliefs are very easy to understand. He's a tribesman. When we first meet him all he cares about is his "tribe" in this case first his family, and secondly the white race. The only reason Merle hates people is because they either aren't the same race as him, or they betray what he thinks make his race great.
After losing his hand he simply became the Governors dog, but also begins to reflect on life and his beliefs well there including reading the Bible. "Woodbury had one hell of a library. It's one of the only things I miss about it." His racism continued to decrease as time went on. Hell you even see that he begins to care about Michone a bit at the end, the same woman he tried to kill earlier. At that point there is nothing left of "the old Merle" that we meet on the rooftop in Atlanta, so he tries to give his brother and his new family a chance be doing a preemptive strike. Honestly had Ben not got in the way it probably would have worked since Ben is the only thing that saves the Governor.
Nate's just an asshole who has lost touch with morality if he had any to begin with. His malice has no understandable set up. He isn't a racist, he isn't philosophical on any level, he doesn't even have a reason besides "survival".
Well Merel is a tribesman Nate is simply an animal.
Has it been confirmed that Larry is in his 50's? I thought he was pushing his 60's. Admittedly if Lilly is only 30 he could be just 50, but since it seemed hinted that he was retired completely and not just retired from the military, I though he would be older.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't one of the characters in Episode 1 say that Larry was in his late 50s?
