How do you get Russell to join Tavia?

I have watched loads of videos and i can't find a version where he joins Tavia how do you do it?

    I believe you have to mention the chance to meet up with family and friends you may have lost contact with

    Yeah choice based games should always be whatever you did the first time with no prior knowledge should be your canon story.

    You get Russel and Wyatt if you pick the family and friends option.

    Maybe he's setting up a second save file to see what will change if everyone goes, and wants to experience it himself instead of watching the different choices on the web. It's always more fun seeing it yourself.
