Sam & Max sound issues

Purchased full run of games on Steam
All tested games open, all have music and sound effects, no voice. Must be issue with this computer, because friend can install and run with full voice on his computer, also Win8.
Any help would be appreciated. Have checked in game settings, have checked to make sure speakers were on, but am lost after that.
Edit: Forgot to mention, have tried running as administrator, as well as in compatibility mode in all previous versions of windows.
Own Poker Night 1 and 2, no issues with those games when run as administrator
