How will the ending of the 400 days affect Season 2?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
I've been thinking about this for a while now, will it make much of a difference, who comes and who doesn't come with Tavia.

It's possible it will be like the end of episode 4, where it only matters for 15 minutes, and then they all get back together.

Could it be that we will never see those who went with Tavia, or maybe those who stayed at camp?

What do you guys think?

I would like it to have a more permanent affect on season 2 then just lasting for 15 minutes, but you never know, I won't be upset if they do that again, I know some people will though.

I'd rather have it last an episode but I'd be ok with having it last a couple minutes. As long as we get to see all of them again, I'm okay.

I'd like for it to be like Episode 4/Episode 5. I don't want Russel, Vince, and Shel split up.
  • edited July 2013
I think if the split is permanent then you'll have people saying, "Why were they introduced in the first place?" or "Those characters weren't fully developed" etc. I already saw some posts about character development of 400 days. So in my opinion, I think it's more of a temporary split. And I'm sure Telltale has got an amazing plan on how to intertwine all those characters in Season 2.

They will, I have faith it them, I have had that said faith since they broke me down harder then any rage game or COD online match.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that this will make MUCH of a difference just to rub into the noses of those who were bitching about choices and how they don't matter.
  • edited July 2013
Well it would be a good place to start, I really would not care if they matter more or not, it would be nice.

    i have a theory..

since ttg let us pick the order of play in 400 days perhaps we could actually pick our group in season 2 ?

like we have to go out for supplies or investigate someone missing and we have choice's of the camps 'goto guys/gals' and depending on who we take/choose can alter the outcome on who lives/dies.. this would then give us more replayability on seeing the differences..

of course that would still mean more work but for an example.

we take wyatt/eddie or russel and we end up facing off against nate.

we take bonnie/shell/becca we come across roman/cancer survivors.

    thoughts ?

At the moment, I'm keeping my expectations realistic.

The amount of variation based on who goes where is applicable to the "who goes with Lee" in Episode 5 - this really only affected the first 20 minutes of the episode though.

The sheer level of work that would have to go into a camp storyline that changed depending on who is present... it seems unlikely to me. I mean, I only had Vince stay, is there going to be no conversation or will they add new characters to make a new group?

So while it could happen, I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than let down.

Simple thing is with the Timelines as they are Clem is unlikely to meet any of them especially Shel, Russel and Bonnie whose stories are all set after her's..
    For the others...
Telltale wouldn't want to introduce many characters who are immortal and have to survive which makes the 400 days protagonists who we know live to day 400 fairly unlikely...
Glenn was in one episode because if he was in more he would be character that couldn't die which would give Telltale a lot less freedom to do as they wish...

So you think it's likely Telltale will go back to fill in the gap between Day 115 (roughly) and Day 400?

Because I think we'll continue from Day 400, and either Clem will be at the Settlement, or we'll bump into her along the way.

I don't know why Telltale would move the "present" up so far - almost 300 days! - if they weren't going to continue from there.

Well we saw Clem on the Hill...
Also Lee and everyone together barely survived 100 days together and you want to believe a 9 year old girl could survive at least 250 days alone...
  • edited July 2013
That couple could have been Omid and Christa or she could've bumped into other survivors at some point.

No, I certainly don't believe she'd be able to survive alone.

They have already suggested that they are continuing Clem's story with season 2 and they can't really do that by skipping twice the length of the first season into the future...
  • edited July 2013
Sure they can. It also handily skips Christa's pregnancy.

It would also give Telltale freedom to slowly reveal some of the events that have transpired to Clem inbetween the Seasons via dialogue. Depending on who the protagonist is, she could reveal more if you build a better bond with her.

To be fair I still doubt Clem even if with Omid and Christa would survive...
Lee and the group barely survived at all the moment they lost the Motel...
It is extremely difficult to survive on the road and It would be skipping a bit too much...

While I would've agreed with you before 400 Days, this episode has completely opened me up to the game jumping around the timeline.

Clementine will most likely make it to Day 400. Whether we see how she does that or not, we'll find out.

    When did they suggest that?
TTG have been mysterious about Season 2, I don't think they revealed anything. Where did you read/hear that?

would it not be awesome of our choices had like, consiquences and junk? XD

The Doug/Carley choice was pretty significant.

So was the Ben choice. He had a pretty big role in Episode 5 if saved.

Consider this. Bonnie will always go. Tavia may also take the rest with her. It is possible. So... their camp can be completely abandoned.
Question - what role would empty camp play in second season?

Tavia's settlement is more important and we will see the place. Old camp - maybe.

At the end of episode 1 tells Kenny Lee, Clementine is very strong that even could take care of herself.

I agree about Ben, but saving Doug or Carley doesn't really make much of a difference in my opinion.

It made a reasonable difference which could affect season 2...
It depends if they bring back Lilly or not...
If they chose to bring back Lilly it would be the difference between killing someone she thought was a Traitor and accidentally killing the nicest guy in the group who gave his life to save a Kid...

well considering only clem would know lilly and she probably just be too scared of her.... so i don't see the point, unless she just happens to be feeling remorsefull and has taken a vow of a pacifist.

but somehow i'd rather she either not in it at all or a walker.

Well actually even though only Clementine would know her, it could still make a lot of difference, maybe she could tell you (the new protagonist) about her, and her actions in the past, and based on that you could make a choice.

For example: she could be surrounded by walkers and you can choose if you want to save her or leave her.

I strongly believe that the Season 2 will be centered about Clem, and how Lee influenced her, based on your choices and dialogues with Clementine.

That would be nice, or to drive people like me crazy that choice about killing Lilly affects Clementine, if that was the case then I would would rage for day's since it has been my number one goal to kill that bitch, but I Clementine is the world so, *Explosion*.
