Save problem

I uninstalled and then reinstalled due to buying the 400 DLC and now i have to play the whole game again? I have saves the game just doesn't recognize them.

    Please check the properties of the Steam.exe, your Steam icons, and the games .exe files, and disable any compatibility mode settings.
    Sometimes compatibility mode is checked, but is grayed out. Then you have to click on "Change settings for all users" at the bottom to disable the checkbox.
    Afterwards try if you can access your savegames.

    I was getting that launch error and followed another post about compatibility changes so that might be why?

    Yes, if you're running in Win98/me compatibility mode the savegame folder location changes to
    %PUBLIC%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead

    If neither Steam nor the .exe are set to compatibility mode, the game might work. The Event log implies that that was the cause of at least some of the crashes.

    Have you tried disabling the second display?

    Also please open the Steam client. In the menu select "help/system information".
    Right click on the information it shows and select "select all".
    Right click again and select "copy".
    Finally paste the results into a reply message in this thread by pressing CTRL-V.
    It contains a section "Installed software", which might have sensitive entries, so feel free to redact them.

    Steam is definitely running in Vista compatibility mode.

    If you made absolutely sure, that the method mentioned above didn't work to disable it, you can try disabling it in the registry.

    Since you mentioned the second display, in another game (rage) the game was launching on my secondary monitor and not main. Could that be the issue?

    That's the Point. You need to disable the compatibility mode as i described.

    If that doesn't help, disabling the display is worth a try.
