Does anybody think that the motor inn was safer than the dairy farm?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
I know Kenny thought about moving to the dairy farm and discussed taking it over if they needed to whereas Lilly felt safer at the motor inn. But what do people think?

The fence at the dairy was only effective if they had gas so they would have had to leave the dairy and travel far through the woods to find cars to siphon additional gas. The bandits still could have driven a vehicle or a tractor into the fence to breach it whereas the motor inn would have given them higher ground because of the upper balcony and the roof. The walls could have been further enforced to make it impenetrable by walkers. They could have made a vegetable garden like Roman’s group did in the 400 days dlc and lasted a hell of a lot longer than they did when they left.

I think about when the bandits attacked in episode 3 and think that they would have flopped if Carly or Lilly (the best shooters) had a look out spot with a rifle on the roof and changed shifts. Come to think of it in the 3 months that they were at the motor inn they hadn't even come across the bandits or any hostiles. They didn't even see the bandits until after they met Danny and Andy who had been doing deals with the them.

I think that the motor inn was safer i would have never left especially when you need gas for defenses.

The farm was safer then the motor inn, as long as you have fuel, and no bandits. In the long run the motor inn was safer.

There was a cow and a woman who cook delicious human steaks. And a swing!

It's funny how the grass looks greener on the other side. Those that wanted to leave the motor inn for places unknown didn't realise how good they had it. Looking across all mediums of the walking dead Lee's group had the most comfortable set up excluding Rick's Alexandria settlement and the Hill top settlement. Most of the characters we see in the walking dead universe camp out in tents, lived on the road, going from place to place. Roman's group in the 400 days dlc had to settle for the dinner and Vernon’s group lived in a morgue but Lee's group had a motel complex. They would have been able to have their own rooms with comfortable beds, probably would have had access to clothes and belongings from the people who were staying in the rooms before they turned. They had quick access to the woods to chop trees for fire wood to keep warm. They had working vehicles to travel to get more gas and water from the nearest river and they could have grown crops like Roman's group did. They could have left 2 adults on watch on the roof, sent 2 adults scouting and added to their group like they did with Mark. What made me think of that was the state of decay game where you build up your community by adding new people.

It really does sound like State of Decay, and that has been my second favorite zombie game in sometime, after Walking Dead, my dream would have been a large house with a stone wall, in Savannah, good defense and a lot of scavenging.
