My theory on Molly ( and theory on the picture of clem with a child for season 2 )

Ok just bear with me coz it gets a bit crazy!! lol

In episode 4 when you get BACK to the mansion after meeting her and the cancer guys, there is a quick glance around the mansion in a cutscene and for a few seconds it focuses on a smashed picture frame with no picture inside it ( as if someone had broke it and pulled it out ) and then later when at crawford molly shows you the picture of her " sister ", look at it, take a photo if you can, then rewind the episode when you have free roam of the house, look at the big family portrait, the photo molly shows you looks REALLY like a younger version of the woman in that family picture, and its clear molly has been searching the house. ( its not impossible that someone would have a framed picture of there younger self in there home )

I dont exactly know why molly would go thru the hassle of making up that whole story, but i think she wanted to steal the boat and make a break for it with her sister but vernon beat her to it, did you not think it was odd that one second she wants a spot on the boat, then the next she just walked away? an the whole dead sister thing was to make Lee think she is a harmless young girl with troubles? Apparantly there is a picture of clem with a child for season 2, the child = mollys sister??? think about it, i hope it makes sense lol

But why would she get a photo of a random girl just for that? She could have just as easily grabbed a photo of her own sister or just no get one at all? Plus you don't HAVE to confront her about it. And how would her sister have survived without her meds?

Mollys a capable gal, im sure she would have found enuff meds to keep her sister afloat for a while, maybe even managed to steal some from crawford before she left, and thats why they wanted to boat, to maybe get out and sweep the coasts looking for meds

Hm.. I never thought of that. You do have a point! I thought it was odd how she just left... The only thing is why was she sleeping with the doctor if she didn't need medicine for her sister? Maybe for protection of herself I guess. :o

lol i dont get it? she DID need meds, thats why she did it.? sorry im in dumbass mode right now lol not enuff weed in me to function

I have a theory that Molly is after the boat the majority of the time. When she and Lee get the battery, she really quickly ditches you once you can't follow and is really shady about it. I believe that she took that battery to her home base in Savannah and swapped it out for a dead one. When she gets back she jokes about not having the battery and acts really shady the remainder of her time with the group, ending with her having an "OH SHIT" look on her face when Lee finds her leaving the mansion. Several characters show distrust towards Molly (Kenny, Christa, even Vernon), and imply she seems a mercenary type.

I never noticed that Molly might have found the picture of her sister in the mansion, which would mean that she did NOT ditch Lee for the picture and in fact made up a clever lie to save her ass. I think Molly sabotaged the boat by stealing the real battery, and it would make sense if the cancer survivors lost Vernon once they got to the water and realized the boat didn't run.

Damm that actually makes more sense than my theory! lol DAM YOU YOU SWINE! but my theory was based on the fact that it could end up being molly and her sister at the end of episode 5!

I don't think so. It's way too twisted. How could Molly predict that someone will somehow find the tape? How did she find insulin and other specific medecine for diabetics? Why taking a seemingly random picture and claim it's her sister?

Problem is, there is absolutely nothing that supports this theory. For one thing, what would motivate her to screw a bunch of people she never met by sabotaging their boat that she wasn't even going to use? Did she just want to prank them? Like "hm, I'm feeling like an ass today. I'll just help these strangers fix their boat, and then break it, and then run off:D. LOL!" What does she gain from this?

It may have been her sister. But when you confront her about leaving she says she left to get the picture. If she in fact had the picture prior to that then, well, she deceived Lee.

Obligatory mention of Kenny's magical mustache.

Did I miss something or was Molly a cold, hardened scavenger? Thats what she does, scavenges for her own gain. Keep in mind this is around day 100, folks aren't required to adhere to any morals

Maybe she left during crawford to go get her sister ready for the taking of the boat? lol

And yet she saved Lee multiple times, as well as Kenny and Clem, before she even knew about the boat.

I think her sister is dead unless she lied about that too, I think she was swapping out for a dead battery but its pretty far reaching :D

She saved us once in my game, after she tried to bail but Clem managed to convince her to help for half a second
