Do you WANT to see Kenny Alive in season 2?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
Telltale have recently stated that they will explore kenny's "fate" so this can mean only one thing...

Seriously though it has got alot of us speculating about Kenny. In my previous poll(http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48270) I asked people whether they thought Kenny would be Alive, dead or undead in season 2 and as it currently stands the vast majority think Kenny will be alive in season 2.So now my question to you all is do you WANT Kenny to be alive in season 2 or would you prefer him to be dead/undead in season 2?[

I think he had a good sacrifice and his 'death' was fairly dramatic...
If he survived I would actually think less of him...

I agree, it would take away how powerful that scene felt. Let the man rest in peace he didn't even want to live near the end but had to make his death count for something.

I do want him to be alive but I do also agree that his sacrifice would mean less, it was so good the first time I played I cried a whole lot.

I think they should leave it up in the air. I personally don't think he survived, but I really would rather they leave it like it is. However, I will reserve final judgment until we actually see what happens in Season 2.

Anyone going to take a guess as to when we will know if Kenny lives or not, because if I was a betting man I would say the first five minutes of Episode 1.

Yeah or maybe the last five minutes of episode 1 and end it on a cliffhanger of sorts! Definitely episode 1 we'll find out i'd say.

That would be best, anything after Episode 1 would make people think that Telltale was just trolling, and they are not.

I'm thinking around half way through episode 1 when the first gun shot happens attracting the Walkers one of which may be Kenny

Hell Yeah I want to see Kenny alive in season 2. Kenny is alive I can feel it.

How upset would you be if season two is with Tavia's community and you see Kenny but you do not talk to him at all, he's just a background character walking around going about his day lol.
  • edited July 2013
I would be yelling at the TV saying "Holy shit it's Kenny, hay man how are you doin- why can't I talk to you, is this a glitch, talk to me bro 'five minutes later' *explosion*..

I'd make the game let me talk to him,it'd go something like this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBC9D0IRj3o

I can already see how that would go, "I was born in the 80s, you will fucking talk to me now mister stache."

Why can't I talk to him, what, no no no no Kenny noooooooooo fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" *grabs hold of computer and throws it out the window, smashing the glass in the process and then going on a rampage*

I am sure I voted for no,but I never meant to,sorry I never had my glasses on and misread it,sorry :o

I meant to say yes, because I am a huge fan of Kenny, and It would be awesome to see him return.

You bet I do! Though he should only appear if you got the Christa ending.

    I think so too.

Much as I liked Kenny, I think his return is unlikely and for me, it would cheapen his sacrifice. Besides, I wouldn't exactly expect "exploring Kenny's fate" to be a good thing. Telltale "explored" Carley/Doug's fate in 400 days, how'd that make you feel, eh? :P Hell, if they can gut-punch us and the rub it in our faces later like that, it wouldn't be unlikely that even if Kenny returns, he MIGHT just die seconds later, giving all Kenny fans a second heartbreaking. I'd rather he just stayed off the grid.

There's a fine line between being realistic, and being sadistic. The WD universe is an ugly place to live, but a scene like that would basically be cruelty on the part of the video game developers, IMO.
  • edited July 2013
A lot of people said the same about Doug/Carley's corpse in 400 days. And I bet the devs predicted that sorta reactions, hence why it was put in. With the scene being completely unnecessary, I'd say you're right, there IS a touch of cruelty mixed up in that :D Which is why I'm expecting something as bad or worse from season 2. Probably it won't involve Kenny, but who the hell knows? Just making guesses here.

Video game cruelty, a word I thought I would never hear, well that made my day.

Not really. It's clear Carley/Doug was dead as a doornail when Lee & Co. left them, no matter how many fans wanted to believe the bullet "just grazed him/her". (Seriously?) The scene in the trench was probably included by Telltale just to slam the coffin on the argument once and for all, and didn't have anything to do with "let's put a shot of Carley/Doug's corpse in there so we can lick the tears off the faces of our fans."

It seems that way, but it would be very cruel to bring Kenny back just to kill him minutes later, I am sure he will still die later because it is the Walking Dead and all, but it being that fast would be both cruel and maybe a bit of trolling.

Eh, y'all are probably right. I guess watching all 3 seasons of the show and then playing through the game in the span of two-three weeks might have made me expect the worst, after putting many of my favorite characters in the ground.
  • edited July 2013
I seem to be that way also, six Episodes of one of the best games ever, three seasons of a great show, and 112 issues of a comic book as made be expect the worst when shit hits the fan, but I will be now doubt happy to see him alive, it's just after that is when the clock starts ticking.

Don't worry,he will just be brought back to life again if he dies thanks to the power of his moustache :D

That is how Kenny feels if they do not bring he back, he is just going to be a random drunk at the Inventory, Do you really want the only game to have Kenny beside season 1 be Poker Night 3, and have him be just some guy at the bar!
  • edited July 2013
OF COURSE I want him to be alive! Even if he is just a background character in Tavia's community, I'll be able to say "Hey, he lived! Awesome!" As it stands, I think that while we may see him alive, he will die on us at some point. For good. No speculation, or hoping, he'll be gone and we'll all know it. I can't see him surviving Episode 2. Hell, I can't see him surviving the Episode he appears in.
  • edited July 2013
I won't go that far, maybe half way through Episode 3, like Carley, or at the end by sacrificing himself for Clem, and dying for real, I would love more then anyone here, well maybe a tie with Kenny, but I would want him to live, but it will never happen, all I ask is some more time to say the things I never got to see, I want to go fishing with Kenny, do a brofist, simple stuff before he goes for good, but he will never really be gone, I guess since I AM Team Kenny.

How cruel it will be in season 2 if he will leave and something happends and his fate will be unknown for the second time ? xD

I voted no tho,not a big fan of kenny
  • edited July 2013
I guess seeing him alive and having him walking toward a hill with the sun setting is to much to ask for, but knowing he would alive and never seeing him died would make me happy, even though I would prefer having him in the group and then never dying, even though that will never happen.

I have mixed feelings; on one hand, Kenny is my favourite character, so I want to see more of him, but on the other I feel like him jumping into that pit to save Christa was a great way for him to go out, and I wouldn't want the impact of that to be lost.

HELL NO! The way I see it, if the protagonist died who was more important to the story than he was why should he be kept alive. What makes him so special? I felt the same way about the Assassin creed games when they kept Ezio around when Desmond had so many other ancestors that could have been in the games between AC2 and AC3 . I thought what the hell makes Ezio so special. He should have only been in AC2 and they should have moved the series on without him since Desmond was the protagonist.

Lee was the protagonist and the person we controlled I don't see why Kenny should survive season 1 when Lee didn't. I think Kenny served his purpose and he wouldn't be necessary for season 2. Putting him in would be fan service if he's alive but sad or satisfying if he is found dead based on the players view of him. I didn't like the guy but that's not the reason I wouldn't want to see him in season 2, it's because I think it is unnecessary for him to be there and implausible for him to be alive even if they didn't show him die. Kirkman didn't show Lilly die in the comics either but it's safe to say she was boxed in without ammo so we are left to use our common sense and read between the lines.

The Ben Kenny Death was the most powerful scene other than Lee's death for me.
