I think people said it's Carley's gun, Lee kept it and he dropped it in the house. Ben picked it up.

Because I think it was, so it kind of had meaning beyond being a self defense weapon.

The gun ben owns in episode 4 is in fact Lillys. Carly seemed to have lost her gun in episode 3.

Yeah, I just replayed this part 2 nights ago and Ben picks up the gun Lee dropped. Pretty sure it's Carley's gun.

I don't understand what happens to the bullets you save from the zombie standoff a few minutes later when Kenny asks how many you have.

If you don't say I am not leaving you give them to Kenny and walk away, he then fires more the said amount of shots into the horde.

Yeah, I want my parents to come home now. :(

I think that.... may be a little while, ya know? I mean they prolly turned into walkers and for some reason stayed together in walker form over 3 months and will appear to show you that they are dead in episode 5 so you can move on, shall we get going?

Well that would have been cruel if you could tell Clem that.

A theory on the Wiki says it's indeed Carley's gun. It's never explained in the game, but people speculate that Lilly, with her paranoia, only allowed the person on the watch to have a gun on them, while keeping the rest of the weapons, including Carley's Glock, in her room. Hence why she had the gun on her in the RV scene.
I think this theory is likely true, since throughout episodes 1/2 Carley's Glock is the only such pistol the group has and it's unlikely to have changed. If you choose to believe this theory, like I did, then I suppose it does make it the last memento of Carley, as Lee carries it with him throughout the remaining episodes. On the other hand, that also makes it the gun that KILLED Carley, so there's that :D Either way, it all makes dropping the gun without Ben to pick it up sadder. Although I was disappointed that even if you do save Ben, who retrieves the gun, and you still have bullets, even if you don't give it to Kenny, the game never presents you the opportunity to use it again. It even disappears from Lee's model. Which is disappointing, I was hoping to shoot the Stranger with it.

I believe it was the gun, so Lilly killed Carley with her own gun, and I think Lee hands it to Christa or Omid off camera, as he would have used it during Campmans part or given it to Clem, so I think they have Carley's gun, so just one more reason they need to live.

Let's be honest here, the overall safety of the group would decrease if Ben were to have a gun instead of Lee. How many walkers did Lee kill with a pistol compared to Ben? Let's just say, more than enough.

It would have been nicer for Clementine to hold onto Carley's gun. Seems a lot more appropriate than having the Stranger's gun.

What gun does Lilly use to kill Doug? I have done a Doug playthrough but never noticed that she used Carley's gun to kill Carley (which is ironic in a horrific kind of way).

I think that Clem having the strangers gun might be symbolism for Clem's loss of innocence if she shot the stranger. If not it can be a symbol for her maturity, as she learned from her mistakes after the stranger incident.

I like this idea, I think symbolism works well in this game.

Hm, that's a valid theory, I suppose, it would explain why Lee doesn't carry the gun when confronting the stranger. Although why he would hand Omid or Christa an empty gun, I don't know, especially since he probably treasures it as the last memento of Carley. Personally, I would have preferred if Lee kept it throughout and then gave it to Clementine. Her carrying Carley's gun would have been more symbolic. Now it seems she has some random cop's gun.

Wait I thought she had the Stranger's gun but yeah she picked up the walker cop's one. What happened to the Stranger's gun?

The case of the missing handguns.

It is a gun, they did not find many in Savannah, so I think they kept it just in case they find ammo, spare gun is never not useful.

If Lee had the Stranger's gun couldn't he just get Clem to shoot the trapped Walker at the end instead of trying to get the keys/gun off him alive? I'm confused, maybe they left it behind which would be pretty dumb.

No, I think you have shovels and spare guns mixed up.

The Stranger's gun was out of ammo when Lee shot the walker in the hotel. That was the last bullet. It's not seen or used afterwards. Lee could have either kept it or left it. It seems to disappear the same way Carley's gun does, as soon as it's out of ammo and not useful anymore. And Clem uses the gun she picks up from the cop walker.

Shoves are more useful then empty guns, but that is determined, it might have one or it might not, I just like to think Lee gave it to Christa and Omid, and is not on his body.
