How many of you figured out the " Next time, on the walking dead " thing then?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
I have to admitt i did NOT, i found out when someone mentioned it. You know how the preiews for NEXT EPISODE was filled with scenes that did not in fact happen in the next episode? well its just like the Comics, the front cover KINDA lies about what tje issue is about, It just alluded to the possible plot for that issue, and the game being part of the comic copys it, very nice add i may say lol

I saw a lot of scenes in the "Next time, on the walking dead." Segment that was not in the game. Carley handing an energy bar to Lee, Ben with a rifle, (I wouldn't trust him with a rifle) and also the episode 2 sneak peek imploed a bandit war. It never happened, but I'm glad because episode 2 was already tense.

They make us stuff to fool us, and it always would.

Yeah I think they were trying to make it look like the bandits were the main enemies of Episode 2, whereas it was the St. Johns really.

I wonder if the roadside argument was meant to take place during the day, with Kenny having more of a part in it as well like the next time trailer for Episode 3 had shown. Is it just supposed to throw us off the idea that something bad was going to happen as we thought it would take place during the day? Not sure. Was also weird that it showed Christa and Omid attacking walkers in Episode 3 and they didn't.

Ah, I remember these next episode previews...They were examined very thoroughly back when, you know, there was intelligent discussion in this sub-forum.

I can't wait for the ones in season 2.

Telltale are masters at the art of misdirection.

A good example, *Carley will remember that* Bang.

That is one reason I just never saw it coming, they pretty much trolled me by putting that there, it was so well planted I had no idea what was to come.

Yeah because you were like "Awwww yeah I'm on Carley's good sideeee--- WTF NOOOOO WT!F!!!"

That was most people, I was just in disbelieve at the situation, it really helped seeing the whole *Carley will remember that*

According to Telltale, they have the broad arc structures in the story mapped out from the beginning but all of the nitty gritty details aren't finalized until they work on them in between episode releases. So all of the "next time" segments are probably their best guesses at what's going to be happening in the next episode, which might not always match the final product.

I know that episode 2 in particular underwent quite a bit of last-minute change. If you find some of the unused audio clips from it (they're on youtube), you can hear stuff involving Lee cutting Clementine's steak for her and having medicine for Larry when he collapsed. Pretty interesting if you have the time.

Well, it happens all the time in various media, such as TV series. Like, ALL the time. They put some scenes that aren't on the game on the preview to draw our attention.

DomeWing, do you have a list of what was going to be in Episode 2, it seems like a interesting read.

I would like in on paper in text from but playlists are good enough.

I still haven't gotten around to listening to the unused audio from Ep 4. So far everything else has been fascinating stuff.

I'm still torn on whether they should have left Danny as creepy as first intended. Well, creepier. A pitchfork in the chest would have been too good for him.

I did hear that line, I am kind of happy they did cut that, he was creepy enough as it is, they did not need to make him a pedo, if that line was in there I would have killed him without a second thought.

There's actually still a small exchange that points to Danny being a pedophile. Before you try to ambush him, he talks to Andy about what to do with Lee and the others. Andy says to pick one to keep and kill the rest. Danny then asks if he can pick which one to keep alive and Andy immediately tells him "Not the kid. Not enough meat on her to trade." So yeah. Creepy-ass motherfucker.

    Yep, it's very telling.

I never thought of it like that, shit now I feel like stabbing him, well I guess he lucked out that I did not pick up on that until a year later.
