Is Christa planning to kill her unborn child?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
She drank the whiskey in episode 5 which would obviously be damaging to a unborn child if stuff like that is continiously done,do you think she wants the baby to die so it doesn't have to live in the ZA or what do you think Christa was doing? Kenny was really shocked when it happened and later Lee asks her what was going on with her in the attic but she shuts him down before omid finds out.

I don't believe she was doing that to kill the baby, no she was doing it to prove something to Kenny.

Yeah I agree with bioshock. I figured it was her girly way of saying I can drink just as much as you. YOLO

Yeah I hope you's are right.Be depressing if she was trying to abort the baby

Not in the subject but i love your "location" Crixus ! Anyway Vernon is dead now.

In concern to Christa, it was just to proove to Kenny that she got balls too (even if she is a woman :D )

If she was only a week pregnant I wouldn't be too depressed, but any longer and she better just go through with it.

That baby don't stand a chance and is gonna end up making me depressed one way or another

Yeah I see a lot of girls do that when alcohol is involved. especially If you say they cant hang with the guys. Then they go out of their way to prove you..... Well in the end they prove you right as they end up puking their guts out all over your carpet -_-

That may have hit too close to home for me.

If she manages to kill her baby wouldn't she end up with a zombie foetus in her belly? :P

I actually think that it was pretty heavily implied that she was at the very least unsure about whether or not to have the baby. Whether or not she'd actually try to kill it (abortions are kinda hard to get when you're in a zombie apocalypse...not to mention the South), she would certainly have preferred never being pregnant. Remember her reaction to the sonogram back at Crawford? Her personality is that of a pragmatic survivor. She knows full well that bringing a child into a world as brutal as the Walking Dead would not only jeopardize her and Omid's chances of survival but could mean subjecting her child to a great amount of pain and suffering. That's why she keeps brushing aside Omid's concerns for the baby. She doesn't want to think about it.

I can't see Christa being all that concerned about what Kenny thinks of her. I guess we'll see what happens with her in season 2. Probably nothing good:(

    *massive nod*

What I wanted to say, but couldn't, because I can't articulate for shit.

I think after everything that just happened she just needed a drink...
As much as it might harm the baby she has a lot more to worry about...

drinking doesn't harm the baby as much as y'all think. as long as its not habitual the baby will be A-OK. Also she wasn't trying to get s#!t faced.

I think its just the walking dead being the walking dead, showing nobody's a saint, especially in the apocalypse

    I think I would too.

Honestly, some of the "pearl clutching" I've seen over Christa taking a drink (elsewhere, haven't seen much here) almost amuses me given all the freaking peril she's been (and continued to be) in. I'm not going to hold having a big swig of whiskey while taking a breather on the couch, against her.

One drink will do sweet fuck all in the grand scheme.

^ This Exactly. Before Crista takes a swig of alcohol she looks down at her belly, Kenny notices this and that's when Crista grabs the bottle. I fully believe this is to keep her pregnancy a secret. Not because she doesn't want the baby but because she knows how dangerous (not to mention difficult with very little food and resources) bringing a baby into the world would be. That's why she's so keen for Omid to drop the subject.
Babies cry and noise attracts walkers which puts everyone's life in danger.
