poker night 2 doesn't start up at all on win8

Had to move over to win8, and now I tried to start game, but its die on me badly.

What I did so far:
-DirectX install double checked, didn't help
-Deleted, redownloaded game from Steam
-Deleted config files from my documents telltale
-Verified game cache integrity
-Tried to set compatibility for pokernight's exe file for win7

Any other ideas please, as currently the game just not working for me.

    That's a Windows 8 incompatibility.

    It should work if you unplug all non essential usb devices, especially gamepads/joysticks.

    If you don't want to unplug the devices every time, the dinput8.dll workaround could help.
