Most Evil Character?

edited August 2013 in The Walking Dead
Evil is a big word. Implies someone who wants to cause harm to others and basically make life miserable for others and enjoys it.

We haven't really seen a pure evil character yet unlike the comic or show has, so who fits this category the best so far.

Everyone had their own reasons for what they did. But the stranger took it way further. He took it upon himself to chase the group down to Savannah, kidnap Clementine, and unintentionally break up the group.

He justified everything to Lee's group for stealing the supplies. He most likely got his wish as Kenny died in the midst of the group chasing the stranger down. Even then, the player notices that he has become insane, keeping his wife's head in a bag, as well as wishing that Lee would soon be a walker rotting in the streets of Savannah (when determinately, Lee had nothing to do with his problems.)

    He's rightfully pissed but I don't think he's eeevil.

I think Joyce is a ringwraith trapped in an old lady's body.

    Screw you, Brenda!

Oberson. I've already ranted about why I hate him, so I won't do it again here.
  • edited August 2013
    heck, obberson, kids?
  • edited August 2013
Oberson. Seriously I am so glad we never met that guy while he was alive.

Do you think he and the governor were related?

    Joyce is an evil bitch

Lilly. She killed Carley for no reason.

I feel like Danny fits your description of evil the best, he seemed like he enjoyed what the St. Johns did more than Andy and Brenda. I think the other people on that list I would consider evil are Nate, Oberson (only because he kills whoever can't live by Crawford's rules), Brenda and Andy. But Danny the most.

Much as my inner hater wants to scream "LILLY!!!" because she's the only character in the game to straight up murder someone who was not a stranger to her, "evil" doesn't fit to describe her. Not truly. Unhinged, unstable, yes. But not evil.

Thus, Danny gets my vote. Of the St. John family he definitely was the worst one, and "evil" word fits him like a glove.

Oberson? Who knows. We don't really get to see the guy. Could be he too was unhinged by some event, much like the TV series Governor, while before that he genuinely believed that he was doing the right thing. Hell, his survival plan is TOO harsh, but in theory, it's an effective one (still failed in the end though). Guess we'll never know. So I can't vote for him being "evil" without ever seeing or meeting the guy.

So you need to play again. Maybe you'll see the reasons.

Most evil character acts as a friend. Knows how to use group's fear. That makes him a leader fast. Evil character constricts freedom and wants people to kill other people. In the name of safety.
    It is Roman.

No one is pure evil, they all have reasons. Some of them are pretty sick though

I went with Brenda as she was the leader at the dairy and the cannibalism.

    Lilly.

Everything she did was for her own selfish reasons.

I would say both Lilly and Crawford, I mean who kills kids for not being old enough?

No "bandits"? Raided every camp they could for supplies and then raped/killed the young girls there for the hell of it? No? Alright, then.

Totally agree with this. Not to mention the fact that these bandits indirectly killed Carley/Doug, Duck and Katjaa when they raided the Motor Inn. At least the Stranger had a sympathetic story. He wasn't evil from the start, but the apocalypse simply lead him to insanity.

The bandits, on the other hand, kill and destroy with no remorse, repentance, or respect. So yeah, if we're talking about "evil", these guys are probably the purest evil in the game.

Of those listed? Probably the Saint Johns as a group.

Pretty much. Rapists and killers who were literally the only ones not even trying to justify the things they were doing. Even the Saint Johns, as far gone as they were, still had some semblance of loyalty to each other in memory of their old lives and tried to justify their twisted mentality. We saw nothing from the bandits but threats and murder.

And as cruel and foolishly short-sighted as Oberson's policies were, Crawford's goal was survival. It's not much consolation to the people they killed, but it wasn't all done for the heck of it.

By the way I looked up and Crawford Square is a real place in Savannah, well now I know where to not go to in Savannah, or should I go there to see the Ben Tower.

Despite my other feelings on the matter, I must say that "Roman the Manipulative" is an awesome name.

Now then, about my other feelings on the matter...

Pretty much, good job Telltale, you made a location in real life more famous.
  • edited August 2013
Time to make a Ben memorial in there? Kinda like that thread where someone found Doug/Carley's resting place and talks went about making a small memorial :D
Granted, the bell tower would probably be harder to access than some random ditch on the side of the road.
  • edited August 2013
True, but Ben did not die there, he died in some alleyway near River Street, wonder if that place is real to, would not surprise me.
  • edited August 2013
Depends. Might be he dies there on my second playthrough.

  • edited August 2013
That is nuts, I thought since he is insane and did not think twice in killing the old couple that he would get a lot of votes.
  • edited August 2013
Maybe it's not exactly that he's the most "evil" as it is that he's more or less insane.
  • edited August 2013
But still, someone should have rated Nate at least a 1...
  • edited August 2013
Even Roman got 2. Damn you Sick Octopus and I guess one other person.

Oh come on, after she shoots Carley in the face she justifies it by saying she's protecting the group and she can't afford to lose anything else. :p

Lilly was my #2 non-main, but still... bitch be evil-crazy.

 You're telling me that your list of "Most Evil Character" in the Walking Dead goes:

    1. Useless kid who threatens the group's survival
    2. Guy who kills off useless kids who threatens his group's survival

    The fuck, man?!!
