edited August 2013 in The Walking Dead
if you had to choose between playing as Christa or as Omid, who will you choose and why? I will choose Christa cause i'm a girl too ;)

i sort of feel like Omid would generally let christa make the decisions, so controlling Omid would be tough if you disagreed with Christa, whereas Christa would have the final word even if Omid disagreed, so basically Christa = Lee, Omid = Clementine, and i would much rather be controlling Lee/Christa than Clementine/Omid

Yeah Omid never really makes his own decisions; he just lets Christa do it as he knows ultimatley she can make the hard choice. SO while I like Omid more I'd rather play as Christa.

    I'd rather Omid.

Even though I like Omid more, I think he works better as a NPC so I'd have to say Christa.

Christa. She's the boss of the two, and we got to see more of her in Season 1.

I like Omid for it. Sure, he doesn't take anything seriously. That can change. But when it comes to just following Christa, I disagree. Remember when we first met Omid and Christa? Omid said that Christa doesn't let them join groups. When you go up the ladder, they're arguing. Omid must've won the argument, because they did join Lee and the others. The only big decision that I can think of where Omid was even in the room, was when they choose to go with Lee or not to find Clem. There, Christa was making a choice to help heal Omid's leg. I wouldn't argue with that, for one. Then, if they find that Lee was bitten before he leaves, he is now the one with the injury. He is doomed to die before tomorrow. So the natural choice was to go help him. They had been with him for 3 or 4 days, so they hadn't really been given the chance to decide whether Lee was worth helping or not, but what they'd seen of him was good. Other than that, though, Omid was never in the room, was he? Now, he does say that Christa generally makes the decisions, but the fact that they joined Lee says that Omid can make decisions, too.

but i think if Christa decided that she didn't like Lee's group and wanted to leave them, they would leave, so it was Christa's decision to stay

They never "chose" to go with Lee's group. The only reason they were even with us for the rest of the game was because the herd showed up right as Lee and Omid were finishing with the tanker. It is equally as likely that if the walkers hadn't shown up, they would have gone on their way. Which probably would have been for the better, actually, since we're not even sure if they're alive...

Good point, Rock... I forgot about that part... I still think that Omid is capable of being the season 2 protagonist. My point on him rarely being involved with big decisions still stands though. He hasn't developed a big personality when it comes to decisions. Kenny did, it was to keep moving, and to keep his family safe. Lilly did, it was to stay put, and to keep her group safe, even at the cost of other lives, or lives within the group. Hell, even Mark did to a point, he was shown to care more about keeping others safe than anything else. Omid, though, was never developed in this sense, meaning that he could go either way on new decisions. Christa, on the other hand, did.

Also, stalking, Rock is right, they never did make the decision. Regardless, without Omid, I don't think she would've even stayed that long. She would've just kept walking when she heard Kenny. Well... She would've told him to shut up, but I doubt that she would've done anything beyond that.

Omid has more personality and is the funnier of the two, but Christa is the one that wears the pants in that relationship. Even if Christa weren't around, Omid seems more like the type to follow someone else's lead.

If the choice was between those two for protagonist, Christa would be the much better choice.

I say Christa. i like Omid and all but he's better as a NPC.

I love Omid and like Christa a lot.

I'd pick Christa though. She's a tough woman and very pragmatic.

omid, he has less pre-defined character, and in order to actually make it feel like were omid, we'll have one un-serious dialouge option every time :D

    omid

    Nice choice.

I liked both characters, but Omid was very timid, and Christa was clearly the better leader, and would make a better player character.

Omid. or as some people call him Bromid

Which by the way is a amazing nickname.

    Great.

Has to be Christa, she feels more like a leader than Omid. He works well as what he is: an NPC present for comedic relief.
  • edited August 2013
I agree, Omid even though he is amazing, is not the leader of the two as he even said on the train.
  • edited August 2013
But if you play as him maybe you make decisions that will make you.
