Who would like a Dlc as Clems dad?

edited August 2013 in The Walking Dead
Who would like to see some Dlc where you get to play as clems father? It doesnt have to be to long, it can still take place during the out break (by the time vince was in the prison bus, it had to of at least been a week in) just, before the world started realizing they needed to survive. or hell maybe a day or two before the outbreak! Not to mention, we know NOTHING about this guy, other than he's an engineer. I think the episodes chapters would go like this.

chapter 1 (-2 days in): He's at home packing for savanah. He interacts with Diana, Clementine, and the babysitter before the trip.

chapter 2 (1 day in): the whole chapter takes place in the car reminiscant of the opening of episode 1. Just talking to diana on the way and getting a glimpse of a walker

chapter 3 (1 day in): you arrive in the marsh house and basically spend a day there, socializing with people there.

chapter 4 (3 days in): the choices you made in the conversations in chapter 3 take effect here as to the people you are making friends with. On days 3 the marsh house holds a few activities to do. During this you chapter you can call clem, do activities, and socialize more with the other guests.

chapter 5 (4 days in): You, Diana, and the rest of the guests go on a tour of savanah. You can socialize with them for the last time here. After the tour is over, and you get off the tour bus or the tour boat, clems dad gets bitten by a walker. Depending on your relationships made with the other guests, some of the other guests will help in rushing clems dad to the ER. During the car ride, diana makes the first phone call to the babysitter.

Chapter 6 (5 days in): at the beggining of the chapter you hear dianes somewhat panicked phone call to the babysitter. Clems dad feels alot weaker now and about to die. This short chapter is reminiscant of the last chapter in season 1. You giving your last words. On the first half of the chapter, all the guests you made good friends with will be there. here he will be only semi sick and you can talk to diane and the other guests. once you are done socializing, a man will come in and request the other guests leave. He then proceeds to tell diane about the outbreak and what will happen to clems dad. After this, clems dad gives his last words to Diane, and passes out. Crying, this is when Diane makes the final phone call. After that, the episode ends.

The stats at the end would be like 400 days asking, who went with you to the ER?

what do you guys think?

to be fair, i am talking about a dlc. and i guess you could add two more filler chapters.

I guess 400 Days only had six chapters, so it works.

It would be okay but we'd know things wouldn't end well. I like having something to drive me.. usually keeping alive plus I kind of hate pre zombie knowledge stuff.

Dlc is dlc, I wouldn't mind. I would rather play a filler episode between 1-2 or an episode about the crawford walker accident

Crawford would be a really cool DLC, I really wouldn't mind apart from playing as a character who we know is going to die.

    We've already had enough DLC...
Also it is better for some stuff to stay a mystery...

I guess it would be best for somethings to remain unknown, but if they were to become known they I Would not complain.

Clem's dad? Maybe. I dunno. Seems though that he was the first from the two parents to get bit, so it would probably be a short DLC. To be honest, I wouldn't MIND playing a dlc with just about anything in it. 400 days showed that I can easily enjoy a story about a character that takes only about 15 mins or less.

Anyway, I wouldn't put this idea on the top of my DLC list. Give me a DLC set anywhere in the 3 months between episode 1-2, and I'll pay the entire game's price again, or more, to play it. Yes, I'm that desperate for content with the original survivor's group.

    Sounds interesting

Me to, it might not have been much but just talking to people that are now dead would have been more then worth it, it will never happen now but it would have been cool.
  • edited August 2013
I know it ain't happening. Same as probably the other ideas that I crave, like revisiting the motel in season 2, or finding Jolene's video camera, ain't happening. Still, a man can dream, right?

Sure, it would be a dlc that doesn't change anything, and with people who we know how their story arcs end, but still. Think something like Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC. I knew, while playing it, that whatever I do with these characters ultimately won't matter, I had already said my goodbyes, but screw it, I was nerding all over the place when I played it nonetheless.

I know, that DLC was just the best was it not, I was nerding out on all the fun things everyone was doing.
  • edited August 2013
Yup. It may have felt out of place storywise, but I didn't care. It didn't even pretend to be serious, and honestly, I laughed way more than I did at anything else recently- it was packed to the brim with great humor and references to the past events.

Granted, any DLC in the Walking Dead would be far more serious, but still. What I wouldn't give to be able to see the full group one more time. Learn something new about Mark. Draw shit with Clementine. Get dissed by Larry (multiple times). Share a drink with Kenny. Have another heart to heart talk with Carley. Yup, if anything could make me nerd out as much as the Citadel DLC did, this might be it. Shame it's all just wishful thinking.

True, by the way what was your favorite part of Citadel DLC? For me I just laughed so hard after seeing the cold mercenary getting pissed and yelling at a prize machine.
  • edited August 2013
I played it, and I'm not sure. xD Too many things that are funny.
    "BIG STUPID JELLYFISH"
But, really, this DLC should have been in the original game.
Along with all the other DLC.
And a non-existant better ending that Bioware promised.
And not getting off topic, once again D:
  • edited August 2013
True, it should have, I personally do not hate the ending, I thought it was decent, but I do not disagree with the people who hated it, but that DLC was so great that it made everything already again, now back on topic.
  • edited August 2013
A lot of people hated the ending because it wasn't what Bioware promised: A ending based on ALL of your choices.
Now, here, not one single choice matters at all. Just the three primary colors.
Yup, and they all do the same thing, really.
Back on topic, I think it this DLC will NOT happen, too late now, plus we already know they will die, so it really doesn't matter. Would be nice to see Clem before the apocalypse. It would also be nice to see Clem's babysitter alive rather than undead.
  • edited August 2013
I don't imagine Clem's Babysitter being an interesting character though
  • edited August 2013
    Well, we never knew her...
Anyway, Telltale has really good writers, but it doesn't matter, because it won't happen.
  • edited August 2013
I have not seen such good writers in such a long time, hell I may sound like a broken record, but the only game I have seen recently only then Last Of Us with this quality writer was my name.

True, by the way what was your favorite part of Citadel DLC?

Since this question was originally directed at me, I feel the need to answer. Plus, we've been derailing topics left and right recently, what's another one?

Anyway, my favorite part? Had to be when Shep and his current squad get locked up in the capsule. The subsequent dialogue is just amusing. That's what came to my mind first anyway. But now that I think of it, the whole dlc was full of parts that had me laughing out loud. Like the pizza guy volus, god, I almost died there. And pretty much the entire party. That's the humorous parts anyway. Speaking of general epicness, the end fight was great. Especially if you're a vanguard. That class makes for a spectacularly cinematic fight, chasing each other around with charges and novas.

In mine Shepard and Wrex were discussing the way Shepard talks, while Garrus was (presumably) pacing around the capsule, exclaiming just how fucked we are and how there's no air. "Seriously, Shepard, why aren't you more worried about this? >_<"

I like how Zieed and Garus were just talking about ways to make sure no one could get into you apartment, poison in the water, landmine doorbell, that was great.

400 days was awesome and filling and great, but the bones are dry and I've gotten everything out from it that I could ever possibly get from 400 days and the previous episodes alone. In short, I would like some more dlc, but honestly, it would just start feeling contrived and money grubbing. 400 days, while short, is still as re-playable, if not more so than the usual game, due to it's length. So go back and replay doing everything you didn't do. Look for little hidden things in each chapter, and enjoy the experience as much as I did, but once it gets dry, like it has for me, I suppose you could replay episode 4 over and over again to see how many lines you could squeeze out of Clive. Or just read the comics if you're that depraved.
