What should I do?

edited August 2013 in The Walking Dead
I played Season One as each episode came out.

After each episode I would copy my save into the third slot and rewind back to the key decisions to see what would've happened if I'd have chose differently.

I replayed Season One on the second slot, changing a few things: mostly dialogue and a few minor choices (fed different people; shot Jolene; etc.)

When Season Two comes out I don't know what to do - play it from my first time save, or my "Director's Cut"...

    why not do both?

Season 2 on save 1. then do you're Directors Cut.

    Yeah.
That way I can re-do Season 2 and change things again.
    Thanks.

Pick one to be your Canon?

Always use your first choices. That always is better. Then you have to live with the consequences of your actions for your main game, not the story that you like best.

This. It's the most realistic way to play it.

Definitely this. For some reason it REALLY annoys me when people make their choice on something but later go back and change it. You should stick with whatever you did before you had knowledge of what happens.

Atleast as a Canon file, go right ahead and do things differently on others lol.

yeah, my first save slot is my canon save, the first time you play you make choices based on what you think at the time and what you predict may be the outcome, but on any other playthrough you know what will happen so it is cheating really

My game corrupted though, and now I'm trying to recreate my choices, but I don't remember all of them. :c

I wish I could even remember my first choices I first made, but that save is long gone as I ran into save issues and had to restart the whole game after each episode would come out. (Pls don't let this happen S2 telltale!)

So yeah, I have my canon playthrough, and it's the culmination of all my favorite choices and what I would tend to do in the situation. It's definitely the one I'll be importing to S2.

Same here, and if it makes it better then said on twitter that the save glitch is NOT going to be in season 2, and the entire game will be less buggy.

That depends on you. Myself, I tried doing a second playthrough and changing some of the choices to what seemed "better" for the story, rather than the ones I picked when I did my first playthrough. After I finished the game, I decided to stick to my original choices. Just seemed, I dunno, right. Making these alternative choices may have sent the story in a better direction and a more satisfying conclusion, but it didn't sit right with me. It wasn't "my" Lee, it was someone else's. So I'm sticking with my original ones. And I'm gonna play the second game exactly that way.

Well... unless there's some choice which genuinely forces me to reconsider. Like, some decision in Season 2 marks the death of a likable character, then I'd be more than willing to reload and save the bastard. Fortunately, season 1 was devoid of such choices (never looked back after picking Carley over Doug, and I didn't care one bit about Ben, so whether he lives another half-episode didn't matter to me). Maybe Season 2 will have some more critical life/death decisions.
