Anyone else want more changes to alter the story?
It's kind of boring that your choices end up having the same outcome, i'm not complaining...but I don't like how they make shit happen the same way for like every choice...
only thing that happens that actually alters the story is choosing to Save Doug or Carley or you saving or killing ben - that actually ends in one outcome but it does ALTER the story.
I would like it better if there could be 10 people in a group on one persons games and there could be 6 people in another persons game! it would be really cool and would be amazing to explore other decisions and what happens.
Again, not complaining. I love the game, no doubt. But this bugged me about S1

More to the point, varying the survivors in the group to such a degree as you suggest is not really feasible. However, adding more subtle alterations to the story based on your choices could (and should) be done in Season 2.
because if it was the same group of people but some people only managed to save 6 of them they would just feel like they sucked at video games, and clearly got the bad ending, and also i think that is why having only one ending is better because there would be a bad ending and a good ending and if you got the bad ending that sucks.
it's the same in games where the game decides what is the morally wrong/right choice to make, because it isn't really a choice you make you just choose the "good" option or the "bad" option, i like the way the walking dead game did it by not deciding what was the "good" or "bad" option for you by giving you good or bad outcomes, it was the same either way.
i do think there could be more variety and even choices that are different for a few episodes, so like with the doug/carley choice it wouldn't have to end in exactly the same place in the game/story, maybe if you choose doug he could have died earlier or later or even an episode later or earlier just so it doesn't seem identical, just as long as once choice isn't clearly the better one
The choices in the group members coming with you at the end of episode 4 and who cuts off your arm in the beginning of episode 5 had many outcomes. It was also one of the scenes that the developers have stated was a pain to do, so I won't imagine any more "choice" coming out more than that.
In games like Heavy Rain that are changed a lot more by choice I felt no power in making choices and felt no emotional connection to any of the characters
I would prefer to feel like I have control even if I don't over a linear consistent story than a more varied story which takes more money, time and overall will give a weaker first time experience...
Character: Think about it, blah blah blah is no good
Other guy: but they could blah!
(teh choice could simply affect some dialog)
Character (if you agreed): you're Smart, kid. I like that
Character ( is not): You're Nice. But You're too nice.
And don't say that making the choices affect the narrative significantly is impossible. I take it whoever says that has never played Witcher 2. That game, being a 30+ hour RPG, pulled off exactly that- the choices made in the beginning completely shifted the narrative and HOW you proceed to the ending. Yes, the very ending events transpire in almost the same way and the main characters are still the same, but it was like my cousin and I (we chose differently in the beginning) were playing completely seperate games- we were playing in different locations and interacting with completely different side characters. It was probably a pain in the ass to make, but I don't see a single reason why Telltale can't pull it off. I mean, the way this game is, they don't need to dedicate as much time or resources to make detailed graphics or complex gameplay- might as well dedicate that time to expand the thing this game is strongest at- story and choices.
I agree, it's most likely going to be the same, with maybe a little be more control over it then season 2, but I am okay with it, I felt like I had more control then in many other games.
I really hoped that he was going to cut it off and be usefull for once
