Would Fewer People Have Saved Carley If...?
The most common reason I've seen that people save Carley over Doug is because she was the only one with a gun and the experience to use it. TeamDoug all the way, but that was a legit reason to save her.
But would fewer people have saved her if Lilly's gunmanship was showcased in ep.1? Whatever her faults, she isa damn good sniper and saves the group a few times in ep.2 and 3. Of course, there's still the fact that Carley got more bonding time with the player than Doug, and some people might've wanted more than one marksman in a group, but how do you think it would've affected the stats?
Would more people have saved Doug because they would want a group with a more diverse set of skills rather than a group with two people with the same redundant skill? Just curious.

...Otherwise, she's a total bitch.
Er, I was thinking more along the lines of "Badass chick with a gun? Check. Trained medic? Check. Tech-expert? Check." Y'know, variety in skill sets. I didn't mean to make it sound like the player was collecting action figures and didn't want two Optimus Primes or something.
so did you watch the game before you played it? because how could you know if you could tell people about your past at the point of choosing between doug or carley
I did. Because, really, adding Bumblebee to your Autobots line-up might balance it out but few people would turn down a second Optimus Prime just to choose him.
...what the hell was I talking about?
Say what? Where's the fun in having two Optimus Primes and no Bumblebee? I mean, TMNT wouldn't be TMNT if there were 4 Michelangelos... Actually, that would be awesome.
lol that is a good analogy though, if you are looking to make the most badass crew you would definitely pick two optimus primes if you had the chance
Rafael all the way dude!
yeah it would have been better if Lee could tell them about his past with both choices, but you said it would have made you think hard about who to pick
yeah, because it is generally true that men feel more protective of women, but women don't generally feel protective of men so just the fact that carley is a woman would make her more likely to be saved, like how most people saved christa even though Omid was hurt
I meant after my first playthrough and I decided to play again. To make it difficult for both choices all they had to do was give a subtle hint in ep.1 that Larry told Lilly. Making the character think, "Oh crap, either one I choose someone is still going to know who I am"
one of the reason i picked doug was because i didn't want to talk about Lee's murder, i would have eventually wanted to say something, but i didn't want my introduction to be "Hey I'm Lee, I'm a convicted murderer and i found this child"
when the game first came out it was much more one sided about saving Christa and there was not that much of a hint she was pregnant at that point
I would have liked to save them both but at the end of the day, Carley saves you not once, but twice despite knowing Lee's a killer. That's the main reason so many people save her. She saved you, you owe it to her to do the same.
Plus she also proves she's trustworthy by keeping Lee's secret to herself like she says she will and I sensed there could be a possible thing between Carley and Lee which I was all for so.. xD
Also... You can NEVER have enough guns and bullets in a Zombie Apocalypse!
Doug just seemed like the type of guy who sat in his parents basement fiddled with nerdy things all day. So I suspected he was quite disjointed from the real world and as such could break down from someone questioning even the slightest of his actions.
Turned out Doug is pretty awesome if you save him, but that's really meta knowledge for the decision.
