Do you think there was ever a time where Lee was planned to survive season 1?

Do you think Telltale ever originally planned or thought about having Lee survive season 1 with Clem or surviving season 1 but having Clem die and how this would work and change the story?

I Heard somewhere that one of them had the plan of Clem hidng the shed being bitten. but it was immediatly scrapped for the boat.

And if there was a Plan for Lee surviving. it was likely scrapped very early on and just a suggestion that was never used, even in beta.

I think the story and how everything played out was planned beforehand, so I at least would say he was meant to die from the get go. Originally I don't think S2 was planned though, and if that is true, then I'm even more conviced of that.

But that's just my somewhat blurry memory, it could very well be, that Telltale already planned ahead for another 2 seasons, and that they have a huge masterplan, where everything makes perfect sense.

Either way I think Lee wasn't planned to survive at any point in time, except for maybe the early story concept.

If that is true and they thought they were going to kill Clem off instead of finding a boat, I am sure 90% would have dropped Ben for not looking after her.

Yup and episode 4 would be the most hated episode EVER ! And many fans will snap about Clementine dying and that the choices affecting Clementine were all for nothing and people would refuse to play episode 5 .

Pretty much, good choice not doing that Telltale, plus one point for them.

that's teh reason the idea was only there for about ...2 minutes.

Ben actually had less idiot scenes originally as well, they were added in when not enough people dropped him. he didn't take the hatchet or abandon clem originally.

Yeah, the developers wanted to make the Ben choice more 50/50 so they added in the hatchet scene and the abandon scene.

Yep, Ben, and doing that made you a bigger coward and idiot.
    I still pulled you up.
  • edited September 2013
Yeah, well it would've went perfectly if Chuck hadn't come in!

Well even if Ben got Clem bit I would still pull you up despite everything.

Well... I Still want Lee to survive this season...

That is not surprising sadly, they seem to planed the start and end right from the get go.

Always killing the token black man...

At least he was not the first killed, they broke that stereotype.

    That would be Chet.

    You mean the police officer?
  • edited September 2013
Oh yeah... No, it would be the walker in the road.
  • edited September 2013
No, the walker that bit Ed, Clem's dad.

    It's possible that happened after.
  • I am not so sure, everything has a reason behind it, only how valid the reason is matters.
