Think of One Franchise/Event Telltale Could Make a Season out Of!

edited September 2013 in General Chat
What other franchise or historic event do you know Telltale could nail if they had the chance? TV Show, Comic, or Movie! (I'll leave Jurassic Park out of this list. Sorry.)

Franchises
-Jaws
-Indiana Jones
-Star Wars
-The Matrix
-The Exorcist
-The Amityville Horror
-The Godfather
-The Lone Ranger
-Dollars Trilogy (The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly)
-Avatar
-Harry Potter
-James Bond
-The World of J. R. R. Tolkien
-Pirates of the Caribbean
-Universal Horror Films (Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman)
-Robin Hood
-Lost
-Star Trek
-The Twilight Zone
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Historic Events
-1500's Japan
-Discovery of America
-Revolutionary War
-Antebellum Period (Slavery, KKK)
-Civil War
-The Essex (Real life Moby Dick)
-WWI
-Noir/Murder Mystery
-WWII
-WWII (Holocaust)
-WWII (D-Day)
-Vietnam
-Cold War

These are just the things I could think of. I think the highlights on this list are the Spaghetti Westerns (I think Telltale could do an awful lot with those), the horror films (Your decisions could effect who lives and dies), and WWII (Telltale's dramatic approach on the holocaust could garner world attention).

I'd like a Grimm game from Telltale :D

Telltale showed us they can make great dramas, so I think it would be good idea. It would be even more dramatic than walking dead. And hard to watch.

Other than that... Breaking bad (I'm not sure how this game would work :p) and Indiana jones, because it's perfect for and adventure game.

I am surprised no one has made a Breaking Bad game before, I would enjoy a Telltale game based off that amazing show, they could do it justice.

An interactive version of a Kurosawa-style samurai movie along the lines of YOJIMBO or SANJURO would be wicked beyond belief.

Telltale could easily make dazzling visuals for a samurai series.

Now that I think of it, a Holocaust story would be hard to watch from any point of view. Either one from a Jewish in hiding and taken to a camp, or a point of view like that of Oskar Schindler.

But a story depicting the life of a soldier in WWII would be equally as good, just seemingly easier to watch.

And another idea taken from that of Schindler, it could be in black and white, except for one colour, like the girl in the red jacket in the '98 film.

men in black universe would be a good game that they could make.

Oh, I would totally play a Harry Potter TellTale Game!

Avatar as in THE LAST AIRBENDER Avatar CARTOON. Not either of the movies that had relatively stunning and well made effects but over all bullshit stories?

If so, sign me up for Avatar The Last Airbender

I kept that ambiguous. The Last Airbender or the James Cameron movie are both fine.

I'd Love a Buffy game aswell, I think Telltale can definitely pull off the Whedon humor involved,as you can tell from my bottom signature I'm quite the fan of the show!

I found the Shaymalan movie to be utter crap and I want it burned from existence due to it ruining the name of my favorite tv show. The cameron film was ok, and it would make a good telltale game

Whatever they try I have faith in them after only one game, that says something.

Yeah, maybe they could make it so in the end you either go full Heisenberg or die penniless and in prison.

Or maybe they could focus on character back story, they seem to be really good at doing that, or just make new characters and have them intertwine with key parts of the show, or I could just wait until someone makes that Lego of 16-bit game though Kick Starter, that works to.

But none of the characters have backstories that would be interesting to play through.

    What about Mike?
  • edited September 2013
Like I said, not many characters have had there back story explained other then Gus and parts of Walt, I would pay full price for Mike's back story, he was one of my favorites.
  • edited September 2013
Oh, yeah, Mike. Mike is the coolest character... The problem with that though is that he's protected with plot foil. He and a lot of characters.

    EDIT: here's why I love Mike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3u-6UFLubI

Well he is, but who is to say the people that he met are not, since you never hear him talk about those people, again if anyone was to make a game based on Breaking Bad I would be the first person to buy it, I am shocked no one has thought of it after how much love the series has.

There's already been a sticky of this in the general chat.

Perhaps a mod can move this?

Mike was so amazing. The saddest part about is, that he choose half measure again, and you know what happened.
  • edited September 2013
Yep I know what you mean all to well.

    Fuckin Walt.

LOST as a interactive movie - would be cool.

I know right, can't believe I liked him in the beginning, now he is just a rabid dog that is going after everyone else I like.

    I hope
Jesse ends up burning his damn house down before Walt gets there with the ice gun.
  • edited September 2013
Me to, I also hope he does not put down the 'rabid dog'.

I still kinda liked him until episode ''Say my name''. After what he did at the end I started to hate that guy.
  • edited September 2013
Jesse is the only "good" character in the show now, everyone is evil now... Aside from him and Hank.

EDIT: I also liked him, but only until the season 4 finale.

Your Goddammit right, and I agree the amount of good people are rather low, maybe even lower soon.
