TWD wont start right

I downloaded the walking dead today and it worked for a little bit. The game froze quite often though, at certain points, and it would stay frozen for 10 to 20 seconds. Also game will now not start. I press play and it goes to full screen, but it will stay on the black screen. I see the little steam icon at the bottom right that say to press so and so to connect to steam, but the screen remains black. When i press the buttons it brings up the steam screen and when i press to go back, it fades a little and freezes. I can still hear the music for the game, and if i move the mouse it sometimes moves over the play game options and i can hear the click noise.

    Please try switching the game to windowed mode while the screen is Black

    PC: Alt + Enter
