Will we see a group in Season 2?

edited October 2013 in The Walking Dead

This has really been on my mind the description of ep. 1 makes it seem like she's just alone fighting for survival. Though according to the walking dead wiki two other characters have been confirmed. Will we see a group in season 2 or will it be different that season 1? Because I am so torn on what will happen in ep 1 no group? Or some type of group?

Comments

  • i think there will be a group again. its way easier to survive in a group than alone.

    SPOILER (400 Days)
Havent finished it yet, but read something about the Characters you play, if you make the right decisions all of them will join the same group at the end, i wonder if we'll see all this people again in season 2. we have to, what sense would 400 days make otherwise?

  • I'm calling it...It's Woodbury. I've had this theory ever since I finished Season 1, then my theory grew stronger and more possible after 400 days. It's going to happen just you fucking wait!

  • I think it'll be varied very much so in Season 2, at times Clems alone, and she moves on from group to group, that's my guess.

  • I really do hope we see a new group, it was a big and interesting part of season one

  • Can't wait!

  • You ha o have a group, the all dynamics of the game is to interact with other charatchers and personalitys and see how you act around each other. SO yes you have to have a group, taht's more or less consistent, I mean you can't just create a bond with new charachers every episode and leave all you have created behind.

I think managing your relationships with other characters was a big part of Season One's appeal. Was Kenny your bro, or your enemy? Did you keep Clem sheltered, or were you brutally honest about the harsh realities of this new world? Did you hide the walker bite from your group, or let them know what happened?

All I will say is... Clem is not the only character in Season Two. ;)

We'll definitely meet Tavia's group from 400 days at some point I think, although the characters from 400 days can't be the most important figures in this group because Telltale can't adapt the story to every possible cast.

(...Telltale better don't "cheat" by finally forcing some 400 days characters in Tavia's group disregarding players' possible games, using some lame trick as making X or Y justifying presence by saying they changed their mind eventually)

  • Wow, thanks :) I can't wait.

  • im not sure about woodbury, the guy on the radio says, they wanna build a "fine" group and stuff.

...That being said, I can see a reunion of all hypothetically necessary 400 days characters for better reasons later after the first encounter.
It's just that, the first time we'll come across Tavia's group, I want to see the very team that joined her in my game, to make me feel my 400 days playthrough did matter.
If we're joined later by the ones who stayed behind (after they were attacked or something), it'd be totally okay.

  • Yeah, I wonder what will happen to the community

  • I love your avatar and that comment made me think a lot, that's actually really possible I feel like what you taught Clem will change how she acts to new groups of strangers.

  • I agree with you. For me, the 400 days game only really matters if you get to see the charatchers from the safe zone, and I wouldn't mind if the others joined along afterwards, but I'mm guessing that would be too many known charatchers... I think even from the charatchers who went to the safe zone, there's only a probability on just one or two goign along with you, maybe you get to choose or something ;)
I would really like to see Nate and Eddie too

  • I think there will be a group at some point. I'm not sure how big (though I'm pretty sure we'll see Tavia and whoever went with her to camp at some point) or how long it will last but I think it's highly likely there will be a group at some point.

  • you dont to have a one group, she should move group to group

  • It makes sense, I wonder if the group will be bigger, so far I haven't seen any evidence.

  • I thought 400 Days made it pretty clear season 2 was heading for a "Woodbury" type of storyline, they did say the actions of Season 1 and 400 days will play out in Season 2, the only way that makes sense is to have Clementine join the same community that the 400 days crew were invited to. My guess is that Clementine will meet them in the second half of Episode 1, and the Season 2 will show the struggles of the community from Clem's point of view. Sort of like what the show is doing now with all the people living at the prison. It provides lots of new story and choice possibilities that differ from what Season 1 was doing.

  • On the twitter AMA, they mentioned that the story was going to be more branching than in season 1. Instead off going to different places, what about joining different groups of people? Maybe you'll have to decide whether or not to join a small group of survivors at some point in the story.

  • I think that would be very good, and realistic also :3

  • Godamn you puzzlebox and your puzzles!

  • It is absolutely not Woodbury...
Why would the game take the same path as the comic or the tv serie ?
It will only make it very bad...
Do you think that Telltale guy's are so unimaginative to come with a shit like that ?
I think that this season 2 will be community centered, when season 1 was group centered.
Human are getting reorganised and they gather in big community, there is not only Woodbury in the WD universe...

Why do Clementine need a figure...
I think that Lee was enough, now Clementine needs to fight !

Woodbury was bad... It was hiding the truth of a violent new world...
Or as i understood Tavia, they don't seem to see zombies as a joke...
They need people in her community, do you understand ? They NEED !!
Woodbury was like : "yes come with us ! = ) " "hi ! can i join you ?" "hey man do you think i am mother Theresa ? Just die and let me take your stuff moza fucka !!! "

  • I was just giving ideas. Clem is I'm guessing younger than 12 and is supposed to fight on her own like I understand if you can choose to befriended someone or not but I don't know if a 10 year old alone forever just killing zombies seems right, it would become repeative and bland. Just giving my opinion.

  • I don't mean the actual Woodbury, just a place similar to Woodbury or Alexandria, a large community of 30-50 people. There's alot interesting dilemmas and decisions they could throw on you in that kind of setting that they wouldn't have been able to do with a small group like in season 1. Like Crawford from Ep. 4 before it fell to the Walkers.

  • I sort of want Clem to go there and then walkers get through and you get the choice to run or help fight off the walkers. I think that'd be interesting.

  • She'll probably be alone most of episode 1 and then fine the group 400 Days mentioned.

  • Hmmm that would be cool, but I don''t think TTG will do that... mean I eventually want to meet up with the charatchers that went or with the ones that didn't go there ( and with Nate or Eddie :P ), but I don't think that happening will be right in episode 1. And I'm guessing you will neve rhave one episode with someone alone, because that kind off ruins the dynamics of the game ( especially the first of the season), maybe the hird so you can really feel the difference betwwen being in a group and being alone. I mean even the first scene you have of the game it's Lee interacting with the cop.

She'll probably be alone most of episode 1 and then fine the group 400 Days mentioned.

  • She is kinda 9-10 years old...
How could her help be needed ?

  • I think Clementine joining a group at some point is overwhelmingly likely. The group dynamics and power struggles were really engaging in the first game and these are a critical element to TWD in any medium. However, I do not think this season will revolve around a community. If we see a community, I don't think Clementine's stay will be very long.

Here's the reason: we know we're playing as Clementine. In a small group that's often "on the move", like the first season, there's plenty for a young girl to do of interest. You can be very much involved in what's going on because the group will be moving around at least some of the time and in a group you're less able to protect and insulate children and the young -- they have to be involved more. In a community it's entirely different. You have enough people where children are always kept safe inside the community. Sure, there could be an incursion and in a crisis she may find herself in trouble, but there's only so much of that they could do. It would make sense to have a season that revolves around a community if you're playing as someone who can contribute, who can leave to go on supply runs / missions / etc. I think this would be a good option for the third season, actually, though I know that's looking too far ahead.

So anyways, I highly doubt a community will be a big part of the narrative if we're ONLY playing as Clementine. What I could see though is, for instance, two episodes as Clem, join a community, two episodes as another character (I think two episodes is enough time for us to "get in their skin", so to speak), and then a final episode as Clem during whatever crisis destroys the community.
