My The Walking Dead: Season Two Theory

This theory has been flying around in my head for a while now, and I think this would be the most beautiful theory for the game in my opinion. This might contain some spoilers from Season One.

Episode One will start with the regular catchy The Walking Dead logo fading in and out on the screen. Then we get a calm cinematic of Clementine sitting by the table in the cabin seen in Screenshot #5 with all silence around her. Then we get to see a dark face of the stranger with the cap sitting across from her. The face is too dark to be identified in the shadows. Then suddenly Clementine starts slowly telling this stranger about what happend the months after Season One. We quickly get another cinematic showing what happend to Clementine, how she managed to survive etc. When this cinematic or intro is over, Clementine starts telling the real story of what happend in Season Two.

At the start of each episode we get this cinematic in the cabin showing Clementine telling the story to the Stranger while him being all silent, listening. For each episode we get to see the Stranger more and more. When we reach Episode Five and she cncludes her story, the Stranger leans forward into the light fully revealing his face with a smile. "Kenny/Some character we know, or a Stranger: Don't worry Clementine. I won't leave you alone". Clementine returns a smile at the Stranger, and the camera slowly moves away from the duo facing the window where we see Lee standing outside with a smile upon his face too before fading away. And then the screen fade aswell as we get the credits.

Basically Season Two is a story Clementine is telling the Stranger in the Screenshot. And we get to experience it in our own individual ways. This is both a happy and very emotional ending. It can tie up the game-series if Telltale want to, or it could be resumed with a Season Three. Perhaps the house we see in the background behind Clementine in the cover image is the cabin her story will be told in as it appears things will focus much around that cabin.

  • That's actually not a bad theory for Season 2, I wouldn't mind seeing this happen. Reminds me a lot of Shattered Memories, another game I enjoyed very much.
