Can't play Season 1 GOTY Edition

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

Yesterday I went to my local GameStop and bought the physical copy of The Walking Dead Season 1 Game of the Year Edition for the Xbox 360. I come home, play episode 1, then go to bed. I get home from college today, and I go to play episode 2, but it says I have to buy it for $5 still. Why would I have to buy it if I just spent $30 on the supposed entire season 1? And it's not just episode 2, it's 2-5. Can somebody please tell me what's going on, and how I can just download the episodes without having to spend another $20?

That's weird. I didn't buy the physical version so I don't know if I can help but there's a few things you can try:

    • Check in your game folder if all the packs are there (in Pack directory, there should be folders like WalkingDead102---106).
If there aren't then I'd try to backup my save and reinstall it from scratch.

    • Check if you can launch the episodes installations seperately by putting the CD and looking for setups or .exe

    • Search the CD to see if you can just copy/paste the packs from the CD into your game folder

I don't really know what else to say as I have it on Steam, maybe someone who had the same problem will be able to help you better sorry. Hope you get your problem fixed soon !

  • Thanks for the help, but I forgot to mention that it's for the Xbox 360.

  • Ow, then I'm terribly sorry but I have absolutely no Idea as to what you should do. I'm completely clueless when it comes to consoles (last one I bought was the PS2 :S ).

Is there a way you could back up your saves and delete the game data to reinstall it ? Is your disk space enough ? Maybe it only installed Episode 1 because you were running out, just throwing ideas there.

Anyway sorry I couldn't help you more.

  • Did you have your disc in your 360 drive when you wanted to play episode 2? Sometimes, it assumes you have the downloaded version of TWD S1 through the Xbox Live Marketplace.
