edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

Greetings all :)

I'm just asking you guys what ending would be awesome for the series of the walking dead , I know season 2 hasn't come out yet and maybe there will be more seasons in the future , but , How can it be ?

Will The zombie apocalypse gonna end ? and maybe Clementine becomes the president ? ( lol )

or Will it continue as it is ?

Is there any other possibilities ?

  • I think the series will end ambiguously.

  • i dont know if what your going to read makes sense, but here it goes...i think at the end on season 2, Clementine will MAYBE die (i with all my heart dont want that to happen) but i think if she does, it will be in a way that will make you cry from sadness, and simply the beautifulness of the story. my second theory of what will happen is...she will find someone that will remind her of Lee (Lee will NEVER be replaced) and she feels comfortable with him and will possibly end like that. c'mon picture it....at the end Clem sees a figure in the distance and sees a man that reminds her of Lee and gets closer to him...BOOM cliffhanger but still will be nice...maybe lol

  • Nobody knows except for telltale

  • With Clem dead. Maybe by her own hand. No, I don't want it to end like that, it's just a prediction. Shock value and tough choices like that are what define the series.

  • There is zero chance Clem will die. Child heroes never die. Ever.

  • i wouldn't be too sure about that...since "child heroes never die" then maybe TellTale games want to change that..

  • it ends with clem getting killed

  • why do you keep saying this?!

it ends with clem getting killed

  • Can the TWD continue without Clementine?

  • i don't think so. we will play as her so i think IF she dies, it will be at the end like Lee...

As in the future I mean, if they decide to make another season. Can TWD as a series continue without Clem?
Personally, I think the comics could continue without Rick. It would be different, but it could happen.

  • It's hard to think about, because TWD is about people in groups, and we're focusing too much on Clem. To me, the series can only continue if she's in a group. A group is important because you want them to succeed, or at least live a little longer together. But Telltale is making it kind of hard for her, because they're killing everyone off haha.

  • Hopefully, it will end with the final villain dying, then life continuing as it has developed to become normal.

  • Normal in the sense of Clem/survivors getting used to how the world is now?

  • well i think its like the ending you will normally seen in the movies .
    1. clementine continue her journey to fight the zombies
    2. clementine dies , new hero come
    3. a cure or serum is produce the end .
    4. no ending . continue season 3 .

i think it goes same for the tv series though , because the tv series also the same , fight for survival , those who you care for died . and continue survival , the cycles continue >.<

however , i like walking dead by TTG , its very heart wrenching & touching at the last episode >.< i would like to know what will be happen to the fate of little clementine >.<

  • Well, I am uncertain how this will end but I am certain with this being Telltale's biggest game and not to mention Game of the Year, I am certain that there will be a Season 3. I reckon they'll keep going until they decide to give it a satisfactory ending or until they are swamped with other projects.

Its difficult while the walking dead is labelled as "the zombie movie that never ends" there is only so much you can do before the series gets old. I'm enjoying the comics a bit more now but no matter how interesting Rick is after 100 issues there is only so many places you can take him. Honestly the side characters are more interesting. So yeah while I'd love more if season 2 is it i'll understand (if they do this though people will probably blame the other new series as the cause).

However I really think the only way to end to game is to kill everyone or at least have endings where diffrent people live or die as otherwise gamers always want a sequel

  • I don't think they have even thought of ending the series yet.

    Nobody knows except for telltale

  • From a business PoV it would be retarded so I'm very sure of that.

I know the game's not going to end on a big fanfare celebrating the reconstruction of a cured society, but I stand firmly against a "So everyone died because life sucks" conclusion for the series.

  • Why is it retarded?

  • Game Season 2 End:
Clemetine either dead or all alone again

    Walking Dead end in general:
All zombies eventually starve like the one in the comic that couldn't move.
But civilization won't be the same for several hundred if not thousends of years.

  • there will probably be a season 3. maybe in late 2014 or early 2015.

  • I'll get back to you after I consult my crystal ball.

  • Sure it can. The very fact that the game and comic/tv can all be very popular while focusing on entirely serprate groups is surely testament to that, 400 days was pretty well received too without even a reference to Clem. There's always more life in the setting It would just depend on how invested they can make us in the new characters

That all said, watching Clementine die would emotionally cripple me, so i hope it doesn't happen. I doubt they'd kill of the player character again anyway.

  • Exactly. That's how it should end, because Kirkman said that there's no cure, and there never will be. This either becomes the new norm, or humanity goes extinct, and how Clemmy's story will end will determine that, for me anyways, until Rick's story is done.

Normal in the sense of Clem/survivors getting used to how the world is now?

  • Look at what I said to the good the bad the dead.

  • Because in mainstream media children can only die if they're obnoxious and kinda deserve it or if they're not getting a lot of airtime. Otherwise angry moms comes out with pitchforks and torches and sales drop. If TTG wants a s3 Clem has to live. And TWD is bringing the cash, so Clem has to live.

  • Everything is built on Kirkman's work, and I'd say, as long as he needs to eat and pay rent, neither the show or the comic will end - which in turn will make the game a long-runner as well. That's the long and short of it.

That said, I do have issues with my suspension of disbelief if the actual (game) storyline goes on more than a couple of years before everything starts getting back to normal but that's me. What I'm afraid of is that the franchise will start to stink soon, since there is no progress towards an end; the Korean War lasted for two years, but they made the TV show MASH last for ten, and it suffered for that - and that is just one example of a long-runner getting bad fast - X-files is another, and Twin Peaks was only supposed to be one season, which made season two an interesting insight in David Lynch's mental breakdown. And so on.

TL;DR: The Walking Dead needs to end to spare it from a gruesome fate.

  • That's assuming a chronological continuation of both Rick's and Clem's stories. But it could keep going indefinitely, if you introduce/explore other characters and their stories. The infestation is world wide, remember.

  • Yes I know - which makes it so peculiar that everything we have seen so far has taken place in Georgia, US...

Sure, there are indefinite possibilities to use the outbreak as a background, but I'm talking about the timeframe here - I don't think any work that takes place after two years should be possible, unless you want to play a Populous or Civilization type of game. As I said, MASH was made for ten seasons and took place during a timeframe of two years, so that was most definitely pushing it. The same way goes for other events - WW2 lasted for 5.5 years, but the US (who has the bulk of the focus in media) wasn't committed for more than 3.5, and only fought in mainland Europe for less than 1 measly year. That means, that most franchises dealing with the war in western Europe needs to adapt to that - you can't in a historical work have American soldiers fighting in trenches in 1947 fondly remembering how they landed in Normandie three years earlier.

What I mean is that time is very important to pay attention to, and if a timeframe for even a fictional event is drawn out too much, it strains suspension of disbelief. So instead of going forward (in time) for a certain event like a zombie apocalypse, it is better to go sideways. Saving Private Ryan, The Longest Day and Band of Brothers all started with the invasion of Normandy - but they all had different point of views, from Hanks' invading the beaches to the band's air drop to even Rommel's planning of the defences. They were all there, but at different places, even if the date was the same for them all.
