Clementine's Relationship with Lee

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

From all the teaser pictures, videos and trailers, I've noticed one reoccurring trend with them. Lee. We either see a picture of Lee, someone (mostly Clem) is talking about him, or we hear his voice. Now my theory is that besides using everything we taught Clem to do as Lee, returning in this season, we will also get some very emotional Clem moments as she tries to come to terms with the loss of a father-figure she loved dearly.

What do you guys think? Will the first couple episodes or possibly the whole season be riddled with, 'Why did he have to die?' moments? Or do you think TT will just stick with the Clem story-line for most of the season and quickly erase Lee from our minds(which I don't think they will do at all)?

I'd expect alot of Lee returning moments when Clementine have to do difficult choices, or when she have some time alone. I hightly doubt Telltale would erase Lee from our minds this early. I also think she'll have a hard time to talk about Lee, when she informs Omid and possibly Christa about what happend in Savannah after Lee got separated from them.

I saw a tweet before from Telltale about Melissa's acting was very hard and powerful. Be prepared for a shitload of emotional moments.

  • That is what I was thinking too, but it is awesome to hear that Melissa is going to deliver a powerful performance with this season! Here hoping they make Clem sound a little bit older :P

  • lee was first person you met, we are not lee or clem we just making up some of lee and clem story as we play, clem would be dead if he didnt find her why would she not miss him

  • We also have to remember Season Two occurs months after Season One. The depression might be gone, but Lee will obviously still be in her mind.

I wasn't saying she wouldn't miss him, I was just saying if the whole season will focus on this depression or if it'll only last for the first couple of episodes.

  • True, but in a situation such as Clem's I don't think memories such as hers could be easily washed away, or even worn down a little after a couple months. Everything she went through with Lee, only to end up having to shoot him in the head as he says 'I love you' (my choice). That does not settle with a person well...No matter how many months go by.

  • I think he said: I´ll miss you. I never heard I love you from Lee. :/

  • It was "I'll Miss You". If I could pick I love you I'd have done it.

  • I think so! I was thinking the same exact thing! I hope I get teary with season 2 as well (in a good way)

  • In a good way... Oh man, I wish that too.

  • I have a suspicion that during quiet moments, we will get some flashbacks to the time between Clem shooting/leaving Lee and the start of Season 2. These events will differ depending on what you "taught" Clem in Season 1. We all know that Telltale can only give you so many outcomes. Everything has to generally end up in the same place, but flashbacks could tell quite a different story on how Clem arrived at this point, and allow players to see how their actions as Lee affected Clem.

    That's just a theory though.

  • It's gonna be deep.

  • nice joke, depression dont go anywhere that fast

  • We have to remember that although Lee IS a father figure, she still had an actual father. She knew her father for eight years and knew Lee for about 6 months. We, as Lee, can't fill that gap. 0.0

  • I myself often feel like people assume Clementine's actual parents were chopped liver, but I do think there's something to be said about shared danger creating a special bond. Clementine herself got tricked into a trap because she put her actual parents above her relationship with Lee.

  • True but Lee was there for her in a hard time when her parents weren't. Clem is like the daughter Lee never had.

  • I think Lee will always be a living memory in Clem's mind. She will never forget him.

  • Yea like you care about her actual father. You don't ever know what Clem father look like.
