I feel like the characters (well some) maybe will show up in season 2 just because they wasn't in the trailer doesn't mean anything that was only episode 1 they might show up in episode 2 or 3 .. & also I think having EVERYONE go with Tavia will be the wrong choice because they won't meet up right away or maybe never with Clementine , Omid , & Christa when they go near Gil's pitstop (screenshot) ... Remember 400 days characters camp was just up the road also near Gil's pitstop
I was just thinking about this today and wondering if Clem will stumble on Tavia's camp only to have anyone who went there dead and zombified, and the others who struck out on their own being survivors that she finds down the road. Sort of like the Crawford head-fake.
If that's true, then Christa and Omid will meet Vince in my game. Hopefully Tavia's group isn't evil or overrun by zombies because I like Russell, Shel, Becca, Wyatt and Bonnie.

Well, it's still a very hard decision. Only Bonnie is locked, she always goes with Tavia. Which implies that Bonnie has some important role or key moment. In my game only Wyatt and Russell stayed behind (love them both as character), I sure hope they will not die just because they stay behind.
It itches me maybe I should redo 400 days and let everyone come anyway, it's so hard not knowing what will happen.
