About Sam
Was anyone else hit harder by Sam's death than the human characters, either in All That Remains or even in the first season (with the exception of Lee)? I was pretty devastated, since I thought having a dog companion would be fun. And at least then Clem wouldn't have been alone (granted she wasn't alone for long but I didn't know that then).
I definitely didn't hesitate for a moment about killing him. Poor pup

Sam was a threat the moment he bit Clementine. I like the dog, but my feelings towards him now swerved completely. I mean, it'd be fun too to have a dog companion, but quoting from Pete, "What would you do if a dog bites you?"
If Clem kicked Sam in a different direction, he would've came back and finish her off. Good thing I was nice enough to kill the dog instead of leaving him to suffer. R.I.P Sam
It didn't hit me to hard, Sam had gone Feral, was a danger and needed to be put down, even if it had not been impaled I would have killed him. I love dogs but after 2 years alone and scavenging that dog was a threat not a pet. The Attic boy hit me way harder and I see those situations as similar. Although a dog companion would have been fun, but in reality Sam was to far gone to be a good friend anymore.
i killed it because it was just hungry and wanted all off it but i didnt feel anything for it not as much as kenny carly or lee
We who feelt bad for it, i have a theory. None of the deaths we have "cared" about, like carly or omid, was in deep pain, at least you couldn't notice it very much. Sam was in obivous pain, to me it looked like he was in more pain than Lee or Ben who also had a pole throu his body. Sam was moving around and whimpering, and if you look on his eyes during the scene, for me it was the same feeling as when i watched as my cat was about to die, i could "feel" its pain.
Afher the scene i had to take a break, just a couple of minutes.
Sure, I love animals as much as the next person, but it's not a REAL dog! I shed a few tears for Duck, Omid, and especially Lee.
