A Complaint Regarding Choices

While All That Remains was absolutely phenomenal, and exactly the quality I expect of a Telltale game, I do have one minor complaint. I feel as though the decisions I made in this episode will have little to no impact on later episodes, minus one or two choices near the end. Things like distracting the scavengers, killing Sam, earlier things like that, that ultimately result in the same outcome. It may be too early to say, but I really don't think the fact that I left Sam for dead is going to come back to haunt me. The reason I bring this up is because I really figured they might have improved on this whole situation, given their experience with season one, and The Wolf Among Us. In The Wolf Among Us, I feel like every single choice I made has meaning, and will come back to get me. Such as, giving Faith my money - that may make me a suspect for the murderer later on. The verdict is: I hope that in later episodes, choices are a bit more impactful, but no less meaningful or touching.

  • A Big thing is not only what you do but what you say to the other characters and how you treat them

It's the small choice's we don't think has any meaning that turns out the be the big choice in the longrun, like stealing from the car in season 1. I think the choice at the end of "All That Remains" whether you choose to give the dying man water or not will turn out the be a bigger choice than we thought in future episodes.

  • I don't really think the choices of things you say to the other characters is really for defining the ending of the game. It's more for the development of relationship throughout the game to give that unique experience in that sense.
