If there is no cross save, what will happen in the future?
Ok so chatting with some friends we have kind of reached a dead end and I was wondering if anyone knew or had any thoughts about this.
So I have played season 1 of TWD 3 times now, 360, PS3 and Vita. Now the reasons for me re-playing so many times are pretty long to explain so let’s just focus on the fact that the game isn’t available on PS4 and the only one of these systems still with me is the Vita.
I’ve recently learned that (and I don’t know if this is true) Telltale has the intention of TWD being 5 seasons long and that there isn’t an option for cross save nor is there intention of their being that option in the future. Now add the rumor that states that the Vitas life cycle will be over in around 3 years and all this takes me to the following question.
If the Vita is dead in 3 years time and there are no cross saves between systems with TWD, what will happen in the future if say the last or last couple of seasons aren’t available for Vita? Will we have to play through the endgame without our past actions having any relevance? Will we have to re-buy a next gen port of the first season (if there ever is one) and re-play the whole story again?
I’m planning on playing everything on Vita but no cross save means I have to keep every seasons save on my memory card or backed up on my PC and that I’ll never be able to play it on PS4 if (or when) future seasons are released on that system, which is something bound to happen.
So does anyone have any thoughts or actual info on this subject. Maybe Telltale has mentioned something of relevance that I’ve missed.

Would you mind providing a source for your information? Because I have a very hard time believing it came from Telltale.
As for cross-saves not happening? Yeah, it's not gonna happen between systems, that's a technical limitations. But on the same system? I'd say it's still likely to happen. And if you're worried about one type of system not being supported, then I suggest you try the PC version, because that will ALWAYS be supported.
If you are asking about the source of the 5 seasons rumor, it has been said on several occasions on IGN for example. The last of which I believe was the last or next to last Beyond episode.
I don’t get what you mean with -on the same system-. I imagine you are referring to the same brand? From Vita to PS4 for example. If so, that would be awesome if it were to actually happen as I have a PS4 and would be happy playing the rest of the game there. But as it was not an option between Vita and PS3 I do not see it happening any time soon.
PC is not an option for me. I spend 8 to 10 hours a day on a PC and I don't even want to look at mine when I get home. Let alone play for seveal hours...
Most llikely there was some miscommunication and someone mixed up 5 seasons with 5 episodes.
I'm not too sure how save imports would work.
But there are always workarounds. Like Bioware releasing the dlc for mass effect where you could input the major choices from previous games.
What about what Bioware/EA/whatever are doing for Dragon Age Inquisition, they will have this Dragon Age Keep thing where you choose the options you made (or wanted to make) and then import it to the new console. There will be a website for it, Walking Dead could do the same thing.
I had no idea that was happening. It would be fine for me as long as I didn't have to re do everything again.
I think you would just have to choose various things that you did, In DA it will be things like who you sided with, romanced, saved/killed etc. I'll be upset if Telltale doesn't use this system or something similar to it.

Why? Just hook your PC up to the TV and use a gamepad, such as an Xbox controller.
