Does anybody remember Rise of the Dragon?

It was an old game by Dynamix, after they were purchased by Sierra, directed by Jeff Tunnell. It basically stuffed Blade Runner and Big Trouble in Little China into a blender, and set it to puree.

With the direction Telltale has taken with The Walking Dead/The Wolf Among us, I've felt that a character-driven cyberpunk story would be a great fit for them, particularly if they incorporated something like the timed elements from the old game.

Anybody else think this (or something like it) would be a good match? I'd love to see Telltales take on an 80's style Cyberpunk Action/Noir, with chinese supernatural elements.

  • Yep, I have that game.

Doubt TellTale will do it. They seem more into leeching off more well-known franchises.

  • Didn't really expect they'd try and pick up the intellectual property, I just think it'd be an interesting genre for them to consider. I'd love to see them come up with an original IP, but with some of those elements. Telltale has shown they can handle a mystery well, and what they're known for is narrative-based gameplay. I know they've got a lot of stuff in the pipeline right now but a year or so down the road I'd love to see them consider an 80's style cyberpunk/noir. Anybody else agree?

  • Have you played Heart of China or Policenauts? Both are kind of like Rise of the Dragon
