Can TellTale Games possibly make Walking Dead Game Merchandise?

I feel everyone would enjoy having a Walking Dead Game pen, notebook, Book bags, Action Figure, Clothes, Covers etc.of all the characters of The Walking Dead game. TellTale could make lots of money from this. Who wouldn't want to wear a shirt with Lee and Clem on it? Do you think this would be a good Idea?

  • The Walking Dead is owned by Skybound Entertainment and Robert Kirkman so they would be the ones to produce/ sell/ profit from merchandise. I doubt Telltale's licensing agreement with those entities I mentioned allows them to make the kind of things you want except maybe as promotional material.

I actually am surprised there is no licensed TWD Game merchandise. Finished the game just a few days ago and almost immediately went looking for a hoodie or something (expecting dreary muddy, green clothes with black art) but couldn't find any TWD game merchandise.

Just having a little merchandise shop (like the Irrational Games store) with a few key items would be amazing.

Things I'd get include clothing, an art book, extra written content (ie. character journals?), premium physical boxed game.

  • This explanation sums up things neatly. Thanks for saying it so well!

There have been one or two promotional items given away at things like E3 - replicas of Clementine's hat, for example - but as Senior says, Telltale's agreement with Skybound/Kirkman doesn't allow them to actually sell merchandise, more's the pity.

And now, just to make you all jealous:

You can find more if you search walking dead game in the search box.

You could also use websites like zazzle to create your own custom items, i think it should be ok as long as you don't profit from it.

  • I don't think you can license a hat with a d on it

  • all I know is I'd pay good money for several TWD game related items... so if any official gear would come our way I can only say "shut up and take my money!"

Too bad I can't get it without the text, just the Clementine print on it would've been perfect

  • Would it be alright if they were only included with the game itself? Like preorder statues or clothing or figures etc. Things like them?

  • Again, that would count as selling them, so no.
