Idea for how to bring him back (kind of)

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

In the comics there is this ongoing thing with people constantly talking to their deceased loved ones. Even though they are aware that it might only be their imagination, they actually hear the voices very loud and clear, just like these people would be standing right next to them.

Rick can talk to Lori whenever he picks up an unplugged phone that he's carrying around in his backpack. Michonne talks to Mike whenever she thinks that no one can see her and even Andrea heard the voice of Dale while she was looking at his hat.

Why don't you let Clementine talk to Lee like that from time to time? This may sound cheesy to some readers, but implementing something like that would actually be very signature for the series.

I think this would be a good opportunity to bring back both, some of the old emotions and Dave Fennoy as a voice actor.

Comments

  • Maybe one dream encounter (I actually like this idea in moderation) but besides that it would be strange for clem to be imagining him all the time (especially as she hasnt done this yet)

    I like this idea.

Mass Effect 3 did a similar thing for a Shepard who romanced Thane.

    Thane bit starts at 1:06

That would be perfect in my opinion.

Yes, something like that was my idea (I've never played ME3 though, but the scene in the video is pretty cool).

  • this was discussed in another thread. A possible dream sequence involving lee would be cool

  • It could happen, i still think Lee would be at least mentioned in the next episodes. I'm also thinking this could lead to some problems with Carlos regarding Sarah.

  • Wouldn't be horrible if Clem had a nightmare of Walker Lee attacking and biting her?

  • That moment in ME3 is the only time a video game has ever made me cry (the end of season 1 came very close). If they do that some time later on in S2 when Clem is in a tough spot, and he says to her "don't be afraid" like just before he dies in S1 it would be the ultimate feel fest!

That picture of Lee is going to mean something in the future. Doubt it will be as cheesy but it might be an optional 'memory' scene. Maybe a source of hope.

  • She lost the picture.

Yea I started a discussion about Clem dreaming/hallucinating, which unfortunately turned into a troll thread about Inception. Clem seeing Lee or someone else in her subconscious doesn't seem impossible to me.

  • Wouldn't be the only mental health issue Clem has.

  • What are you talking about?

  • I REALLY hope something like this happens.

  • I like that idea. Would be really sweet and nice.

  • Do i see sheets of plastic in your future?

  • When Clem was sleeping in the forest after the incident with the dog, I really thought there would be a dream sequence with Lee.

  • She's had it in her pocket since she took it out of her backpack, so she's still got it. It didn't show up in her inventory because there were no places in the rest of the episode that it needed to be used in.

  • The watch showed up in the inventory. That wasn't used.

Thing is, things like a drawing and a photo...they aren't very likely to survive a tortuous river voyage.
