How do I activate 400 days on steam if can't register Season 1

I bought season one at Best Buy (not thru Tell Tale website). I had to buy the DLC 400 days on Amazon which makes me use this Steam application. Steam requires me to register Season 1 before I can unlock 400 days, but I have no idea how to do this since there is no registration key for Season 1. Anyone know what I can do?
