What causes the group to leave?

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

So in the ep 2 trailer it shows the group has hit the road and left the cabin. What do you think the reason is; do you think another group or walkers overan them or did they choose to leave?

I'm guessing they're scared of Carver and heard about a settlement where they might find some safety.

  • Possibly Tavia's group.

Like Onmens said i think they are scared of Carver so they leave the cabin, but i have a feeling that he could be good at hunting and tracking so he could be following behind them. I also wonder why clementine answered the door to him in the preview and not one of the adults, Could Clem and Sarah have been left home alone for some reason?

  • They might have gotten worried and went out looking for Pete/Nick/Clem. If they didn't return from their fishing trip in time.

  • I really don't think that mystery knocker was Carver himself. If he's as bad as the cabin group claim, you'd think Carver would be afraid that they'd get rid of him as soon as they could. Him knocking on the door to them could end up with him being taken captive, and that just seems an unnecessary risk. If the message is from Carver, I'm thinking it's one of his lackeys.
But, when Clem tells the group, she isn't urgent or worried, so I don't think any threats were made, just that the person asked for them. Maybe he could have arranged a meet-up with them

  • Also, why wouldn't Sarah have recognized Carver if it was him. They were part oif the same group before, weren't they?

  • I think its normal stuff, they need supply, weapons etc. Clem is left there alone, a mystery stranger knocks on the door. She doesn't know who it is, they assume its Carver. Then later you see Clem with the group saying "I thought you were dead" not really much to go on till ep2 is released.

  • They were scared of Sarah. We don't see her outside the cabin.

  • Well I think they must be forced out or forced to leave in a hurry because you can see none of the group is carrying any supplies on the way to the mountains. Luke, Alvin and Rebecca are all shown to be empty-handed, so unless TellTale have left a major plothole something has gone badly wrong

They got someone who Troy (I'm gonna call him Troy because we can't be sure he's Carver yet.) wouldn't recognise (or hold a grudge against) to talk to him, I guess.

  • Yeah, he (in the episode 2 title slide) is shown with another guy with an AK-47. He has binoculars, so I assume he is looking for them after they leave.

  • Normally I'd think too so as well, but knowing TTG, I'd say they were overrun by zombies.

  • Given that the group thinks Carver was probably the one asking around for them, and the massacre by the riverbank at the end of "All That Remains", I'd say that the group decides to get out while they still can and head for the mountains. Maybe Clem even tells them about Wellington, and how it's supposed to be safer there.

  • Carver. Or Troy? I was sure the guy from ep2 trailer and slide is Carver. But The Walking Dead wiki calls him Troy (pic). Also, they've mentioned leaked sound files from ep. 3. I can't find it. Anybody knows where did they find these infos?

  • I think that Carver shot at their house that they are settled in, then waits for the walkers to show up from the noise and they start breaking in similar to A New Day with the drugstore.
