Regarding Choice.... Take 2!

edited January 2014 in The Walking Dead

So I was looking for my last post "Regarding Choice" to bump it up so I didn't have to make a new one, but I scroll through old threads for fifteen minutes then realized I must have past it, so I was like "F**k it, I'll just make another one."

Anyway, Regarding choice...
I liked the choices in Season Two so far... but... It needs some work, and here's why: The choices I made indeed made me feel like crap, but most of the time, the choice was obvious to me (IE Christa, Sam, Nick's apology...). The choice was hard to make, but a different kind of hard: Both choices sucked with Sam, but one just happened to suck less than the other. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't mind those kinds of choices, but there weren't enough choices that left me TORN between two things and made me regret the decision I made (Nick and Pete was a good example of what season 2 needs MORE of). Again, I don't mind choices like with Sam, but balance that out with choices like with Nick and Pete and don't make stats for them, or change the stats.

  • I don't have any suggestions to add, but I do appreciate your criticism of the choice system being gauged by how shitty it makes you feel rather than how much it branches the story.

  • Yeah. A lot of people seem to get on Telltale's case about that, but the truth is that the story is tailored by how you play, not changed.
