Would the ending to season 1 have been as effective if say everyone remaining in the group (Ben, Kenny, Omid and Christa) died but Lee and Clem survived and escaped Savannah?

I'm hard-pressed to think of a single moment in all my life as a gamer that had as much impact as Clem saying goodbye to Lee.
So, no.
Yeah. I can't think of any other game narrative where I have been as invested in the characters like in this series.
Everybody always talks about how it could of been if Lee survived, yet i'm wondering how more interesting and sad it would of been if during the final scene as you watched Clem walk away, Lee passes out and then Clementine pulls up her sleeve revealing a bite.
If that happened i would curl into a ball and start crying
Epsiode 5 wouldn't have been nearly as emotional had Lee lived. When Lee died it helped make this game into one of my all time favorites just because of how emotional it made me.
However I think I would be more emotionally invested this season had Lee lived and was still the lead character. I don't care enough about the current characters good or bad yet. EP 1 last season was great at getting to know all the characters and liking them or hating them.
Considering the walking dead is one the few games that have got me completely attached to characters I'd say they did a great job with the ending. I've only been as interested in characters in Bioware games and Alan Wake, oh and the witcher!
Well, fuck...I wouldn't know how to handle that. I'd probably die from depression alone.
