Which single line?
Spoilers may come from anywhere in the game so be wary anyone not up to speed.
Which single line in the game got to you?
Either that it was memorable, evoked some emotion, or for whatever reason you remember it clearly.
Only two suggestions for the thread to make it interesting, try not to put more than one continuous line in a comment and try to let another person post before you post again.
For me: "You can lean on me if you have to"
It just gets me whenever I hear Clem say it.

"You should probably think about being nicer to me........ thats just my advice." -Clem
"Like Shit , Right Lee?"
''Fuck you Larry, eat up!'' just love that line.
Your final moments with Clementine at the end of the first Season.
"You're strong Clem, you...you can do anything"
And:
"Keep that hair short."
They got to me quite heavily, heck that entire scene did. But those lines were delivered brilliantly. Well done Dave Fennoy.
"Growing up in rural Geogia you learn not to waste". Dunno why but it creeped the shit out of me.
"I'll miss you" was by far the most emotional for me, considering the situation.
"Don't you DARE walk away from me Lee!!"
Holy-Moly!
"I'll miss you", at that point I was like "Telltale please stop this is hurting lol"
"I'll take her off your hands."
At the same time I thought over my dead body I also thought am I really good for her. Felt like a hard choice that one.
Yes! Yes! A million times yes! Was about to post this myself.
"You don't just end it because it's hard. You stick it out. You protect the folks you care about."
-Kenny, 2012
And "Keep that hair short."
-Lee, 2012. I couldn't handle the feels at that point.
At the end of season 1 if you leave Lee there Clementine turns toward the door and turns back and says " Don't go... ", I don't know why but that made me really sad.
Probably cause it hit you in your heart's heart.
"You ruined that dude's face."
'FUCK YOU, KENNY! I am so, so, SO sorry about Katjaa and Duck. I AM. And I know I fucked up, but STOP pushing me around and STOP wishing I was dead. NO! You know how they died. You've said GOODBYE. I never got to see my family, my parents, my little sister... do you get that? Your family is gone, but at least you had them to lose. I never made it home. They could be alive or dead or walkers or WORSE and I DON'T KNOW. SO GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK.' - Ben Paul to Kenny, S1E5, No Time Left
This is Ben's 'I'm Sorry' speech and honestly, one of the most memorable and touching lines for me. I liked Ben and I defended him, but this glimpse at his back story really hit home for me. Ben, Molly and Kenny were my three favourite characters.
"In the end, I couldn't protect her. Oberson said that his system worked, how anything was better than becoming one of them. But I saw what they'd already become. I just wished I'd realized it sooner before it was too late. Before they took my sister away." Molly to Lee Everett, S1E4, Around Every Corner
Molly's justification to her hate towards Crawford and the things she had to do made me respect her.
"Oh so he gets to swear?" Lee's line after Omid meets Clem.
That speech by Ben. It's just...He was messing up so bad that all I wanted was one thing, one little thing that he did right. And then he does that and I thought maybe he has a chance, maybe he'll make it.
"It was my fault. I just...sometimes people die because of me." Clem's voice there was just so haunted.
I was just about to post that. I love that line (in a sad type of way), and it makes you realize just how guilty she feels.
"No, you won't make me kill you! This is NOT the way the world is!" - Season 1, Episode 2: Starved for Help, Lee to Danny St. John
Also, "It's just something I gotta do, you know that Lee." - Season 1, Episode 5: No Time Left, Kenny to Lee.
The first quote kind of overall represented how I wanted Lee to be, I wanted him to be the guy who refused to accept that even though the world HAD changed, it meant you had to kill people. This by no means meant that I took the moral high ground the entire time. I kicked Lilly out of the road and I crushed Larry's head, but I just didn't want Lee to be the kind of guy who would just kill people out of bitterness.
The second quote was just so sad and hopeless. I think it showed how much Kenny was sorry, for all the things that he had done up to that point. It showed how he HAD to do that, because it was the right thing, and the only thing that he could have possibly done to make up for all the awful things he had to do.
Oh, and another one, "Do I look like a monster to you?" - Season 1, Episode 5: No Time Left, The Stranger to Lee
This one is pretty simple, it shows how broken the Stranger was after all he'd been through. He didn't WANT to be the villain. The Stranger is one of the most forgivable villains in the entire Franchise mainly because of this one line. It made you, or at least me, see how he was just a regular person, he was no more a "monster" than Lee was.
I think the best response that you could give to him after that was just, "It's OVER!"
Kenny: "That's fucking stupid, Ben" after Ben was suggested to walk.
“There's charm coming outta my ass”- Larry
"Stay close to me," It was kind of the whole thing with Clem and Lee, and if you have steam the second to last achievement is "Stay close to me," I don't know why it sticks out. It's just that kind of thing.
Can't recall the exact line, but Kenny and Katjaa's talk of dealing with Duck outside the train was the first scene in the game to tear me up. Ben is standing off in the corner, knowing that it's all his fault, Clementine sulks on the train, and Chuck, hardly a member of the group, is also able to take part in the mourning.
Loved the writing during that scene.
Yeah, Duck's death was one of the saddest parts of the entire game. On a side note, I do like the part in episode five when Kenny is talking to the group about Katjaa's suicide.
"So MY family starved in the cold!" from the Stranger. I just felt absolutely terrible during this entire scene.
"I don't know."
"Isn't there some sort of pill, or something we could just give him? So he can just... drift off to sleep... right hon? I mean, Jesus, he's our son."
Hoooo boy. THAT is when I realized exactly how bad Kenny was taking it. I talked him down and everything, but that's when his denial and tough guy act about Duck's condition just broke down in the most depressing way possible. He was literally doing everything in his power to save his son, and when that failed, he just started pleading for a more peaceful way for Duck to go. My eyes were all misty already, and had been since the middle of telling Kenny to stop the train, but that line just made me burst into tears.
The next one isn't really a single line, but fuck it, I'm mentioning it. The scene where Lee gets bitten. I was depressed. Clem was missing and Lee was dying. I told Christa, Omid, and Kenny (I had dropped Ben, which helped me feel even worse at that moment. I was basically as low as I had when Duck was dying), that I'd go find Clem alone. And they refused to let me do that. Christa and Omid had only known me for a few days, but they were ready to walk into hell with me even when I told the to stay put, despite knowing I was bitten. And Kenny? He told me Clem and I were the only family he had, and that I could count on him until the end. At my lowest, I knew that even if Lee was dying, he'd spend his final hours saving Clem with the best people around. It lifted my spirits when I needed it most.
"Bitten or not, I'm with you to the end. You can count on me". That line always sends chills down my spine and make my eyes watery. Just tells you how good their friendship is (if you choose to).
Yep. I got the bro speech on my first playthrough. Lee and Ken were like brothers in my game, and that scene is one of my favorites simply because of that. I just had to smile when he told me that last line. He was with me from the beginning, and damned if he wouldn't be by me to the end.
My favourite line is from Chuck in episode 3: "You've got to consider her a living person. That's it. You're either living or you're not. You ain't little, you ain't a girl, you ain't a boy, you ain't strong or smart -- you're alive."
Yeah thats one of my favourites. I also like when Lee tells Clem he is cutting her hair. He says "We gotta cut your hair. Its not safe." And Clem says "That's not nice. Are you saying it smells?" Love it.
The whole last scene in Season 1 had me in tears. "I'll miss you" in particular.
"It goes to show, people will up and go mad when they believe their life is over."
As if he was foretelling the future, even Lee uses a similar line throughout the game.
I felt the same with the "You can lean on me if you have to" line, Clementine taking care of Lee was the point where the torch was passed over to her as the Protagonist as we indirectly controlled her actions from that point onward.
When you choose to leave Lee when Clementine is walking towards the exit she says "Don't go" which also really got to me.
When Lee says something about Clem like "She's the only good thing left in this world". Does anyone remember which episode he says this? i need to replay that.
All of Andy's lines after he fights Lee in episode 2.That was some well written stuff.Lee's responses,Andy's reactions to these responses -- a masterpiece within a masterpiece.
You got this! You got this motherfucker!
"I'm so fucked."
