    I remember it as a characters name from a pantomime I saw a very long time ago. Since I never saw it written down I didn't know the correct spelling. ;)

    Four and magnetism has got me thinking "compass points", but if that is it, I don't completely get the riddle.

    Break it down. It's simply a cryptic clue.

    I'm neither weak nor nice,
    Nor hot at grind.
    One more than thrice,
    Magnetises mankind.

    What is weak not?
    What is nice not?

    The rest should fall together after that.

    not nice = bad
    hot hot = cool
    grind = ? (not sure about this one)
    one more than thrice = 4
    magnetises = attractive
    mankind = people

    You've just cracked a cryptic riddle, you know the answer and the "at grind" part still bothers you??

    Let's back-engineer this one.

    We know the answer is "Game" and that the section of the riddle we are looking at has opposite meanings from their answers.

    The opposite of game? Well beats me but the opposite of play is work. To grind is to work hard.

    I could've chose a more appropriate word, but then the rhyming scheme would be off kilter.
