Beauty Knows What's Going On...

edited February 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

So I went on a second playthrough of the first episode because I couldn't remember how things unfolded and the little interactions from each character (In these kinds of choose-your-own-adventure games, I like to finish one playthrough first, but here's an exception). When you first enter the luxory gardens or whatever the hell the building's called, Beauty is hiding. Why is Beauty hiding? She thought someone was after her.

"You can't be too careful these days." She says, ominously if you question her about it - not too long before Faiths head shows up on your doorstep! "It's not what you think." Beauty states, as we were all thinking she's stripping or having an affair.

This can't be a coincidence. She has something to do with everything going on, whether she's directly involved or knows who's doing it.

My speculation is that Crane has something to do with it, and Snow will replace him after she's brought back to life with magic, and Beauty and the creepy Ginger that's everywhere have something to do with it.

Side Topic: Did anyone else replay it and notice a lot of cut or alternate dialogue? I chose what I knew I had chosen before in the dialogue options, and a handful of conversations were cut short, and my interaction with the Ginger in the hallway with Snow was different. Maybe the hallway scene changes every so often depending on different circumstances, but when I chose to give Faith the money in my pocket, I could have sworn there was a few extra lines and a sort of "are you sure you want to give this hooker your money?" type of secondary choice.

  • I think that she's been stripping. In the first trailer for Episode 2, which appeared when you finished Episode 1, Bigby approached the Strip Club and says: "I've found what where's been hiding.". Not sure if implied towards Beauty, but still.

  • Cut/Changed dialogues? Can you give example?

  • I don't know, i think she's being secretive because her Lamina personality is returning.

  • Not off the top of my head,.. the main thing I remember (probably because it's the first thing I noticed) was that Faith first rejects the money, then it gives you an option to push the money on her or not. There's another line or two after that the gets cut as well I think. Something that adds to my suspicion is that on a thread either here or on reddit, I saw someone checked out the update that telltale gave steam (and the other platforms, but they were dissecting the steam update) and said that the update meant that they either cut or added dialogue... To make sure I'm not completely crazy, I think you should go back and play everything as similarly as possible to your first playthrough.

  • I don't really know what that means...

  • It's a comic book reference. Here is a link if you don't mind spoilers:

    Look under the heading 'Fairest'

I can't give you more detail than this because I haven't yet finished the comics.

  • Beauty doesn't know shit.

  • Lol, nope. Funny how all of our theories were ALL wrong.

  • I know right? xD

At most, me trying to save face- I was like 5% right :P. Beauty knew about the rooms the hookers were going in to, which gave us evidence lol.

  • Yeah, wasn't a fan of that story. I stopped reading Fables after they retook the Homelands, but happened to pick up that story by chance once, and was completely turned off. Kind of makes me glad I stopped when I did.
