I really do believe that they changed the story of this series/episode. I mean the preview after each episode is supposed to show what is going to happen in the next episode correct? However, many events that were apparent in the preview at the end of episode 1 (Bigby and Crane fight, talk with lawrence) never happened.

The previews usually don't match the final episodes. That's been the case all through Season 1 of The Walking Dead. Although, this one is more off than others have been, so maybe they did do some more shifting scenes around for this episode.

The bit with Toad is fine, I think. If anyone's watched Breaking Bad, I think they're doing something similar. The scene with Bigby in full wolf form (or more wolf form), will be the endgame. I expect we'll gradually see more of that tease unfold through the previews until episode 5 hits.
But the other bits I agree with. It does seem like they've changed the story around some. For instance, I played the first episode today. If you keep Lawrence alive, the scene where he appears is stripped from the preview for episode 2 when it used to appear. So, I'm guessing that's what one of the updates were for, to change things around some. And yep, Bigby threatening to throw Crane down the witching well never occurred in the episode 2 preview for me when it used to. The episode 3 picture has also changed too.
I do wonder what's made them change things around though. It just goes to show that writing a story isn't easy and I should know. Currently wrestling with the problem of serials myself, where I write a chunk, publish it and I'm stuck with it if there are content errors or changes wanted. So, I need to live with what I do and build upon previous installments with the new bits I write.
