Regarding the twist (Episode 2 ending Spoilers!)

edited February 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

Could Crane have been framed/set up? Could someone have donned a glamour of Crane and forged the photo with the intention of pinning the crime on him?

Now, I am aware that the ending very much gives a rather intimidating view of Crane as he crashes the Magic Mirror in fury. However, this can be interpreted in various ways. Maybe he had a deal with someone? Perhaps he was blackmailed? Mayhaps the anger was him lamenting over being stabbed in the back?
Next time we see him he is driving off alone. He could possibly be taking matters to his own hands now that he is incriminated and the potential deal is off. He can't really defend himself against Bigby, Snow and Bluebeard without evidence, after all.

As it stands, Crane doesn't seem like the type of a man to drop such incriminating photos and evidence behind like that either... It all seems way too convenient.

Hmm. Unfortunately I have not brainstormed this nearly enough, I am just merely bringing the "theory" up for discussion purposes.
That said, whatever they end up with, I really wish they do not get too used to pulling the "AaaHA! GLAMOUR! Fooled you~!" card in the future episodes... While it was relatively relevant in-universe, for those unfamiliar with the world of Fables it came as an asspull, I can imagine. Alternatively, perhaps it will add to the suspense and uncertainty, when we don't know what to believe. Who knows? Any thoughts?

  • Crane's a creep. But he's not the murderer. It's too early. I'm still gonna knock out some teeth when I next meet him...

  • For some reason, I still don't think it's Crane. Like we have the evidence in front of us so it seems like it should be him, but after the episode 1 finale I'm not so sure. Also, it's only episode 2, and it hardly seems like we should have an answer to a detective story when we've just started. Maybe someone else killed Lily. I don't really see a person so obsessed with Snow White's beauty and perfection to be the same person that would kill her (unless they were thinking of killing a fake, or she wasn't good enough, or whatever). I'm also wondering who took that picture?

  • I believe Crane is just a red herring. Mr Smith may have glamoured to look like Crane, but that sounds like a cop-out, i believe he is a perv, and did the glamour thing with Lily, did you notice him worrying about diseases from Lily after talking about mundy drugs during autopsy?

So yeah, he was a perv, but in that nasty picture, Snow/Lily was wearing the dress that's hanging in the closet, the corpse was obviously dressed in her regular clothes. Some time must have passed, and im sure Crane is being framed.

Dunno. That crime scene was a bit too... easy. Everything you needed to piece together the evidence was readily available to you along with a picture of Crane and Lily/Snow to boot. My paranoia-meter went up a few notches when Beauty noted how great a detective I was. Sarcastic much?

  • Agreed.

  • I was criticizing that part for bad writing to myself before... but you have a point. Yeah, you've convinced me, it has to be on purpose.

  • I kinda like your theory about Crane being framed/set up as you said. And I'm sorry Snow, but you like your sister (Red) seems to be carrying the same genes and you (Snow) like your sister (Red) got me thinking why you two like to fake your own death so much... I get it. It is for a big cause. We know Rose Red faked her death to get a fortune and we are learning that her sister (Snow) wants the power that Crane holds right now. This is the moment when Crane gets replaced by someone else. (Bluebeard) ... But that rough past of him will only give that power to run the Woodlands for a short period of time until Snow managed to outsmat him out of his spot.

  • Crane is a pervert , but he's no killer. He probably got set up.

  • if the story is in line with the comics, then no. just like how snow white could not be dead. and like people said, it's too early to reveal the murderer.

  • a reason why Crane supposedly left a lot of the stuff there is that only he had the key so it gave him some reassurance. Plus, he could have left her when she fell asleep, at which point the real killer found a way in while she was "asleep" and murdered her, maybe assuming it was actually Snow. Just some theories

  • I don't know...he was anxious when bigby asked questions about lily...

Of course he was anxious. He is a public official (in a manner of speaking) and if it became common knowledge that he used to indulge in such depraved activities, he would never live it down.
Don't think he's the murderer though.
