SBCG4AP hangs on start - Windows

I just installed the game on my system, which is a MacBook Pro running Windows XP.

I installed the DX update and game installed okay, but as soon as I click on "Launch Game", I just get a little (perhaps 640x480) black rectangle on my screen, one CPU goes to 100%, and my system becomes very, very slow. I have to End Task the program.

I have all the latest Windows drivers, and I'm not sure what else I could try. Anyone else seeing this problem?

    Try holding the space bar down while launching the game. This will enable "safe mode".
