I don't like the part 'everyone is infected'

edited February 2014 in The Walking Dead

It just removes all the hopes... What's the point of rebuilding civilization? It will be easily destroyed like before. If the virus or whatever is airborne, where can we hide? If we forget shooting someone's head before he/she die, outbreak will occur again.

I think 'resident evil-extinction' is more realistic. and in that movie the virus was not even airborne. and there were underground facilities creating new human race.

What if it gets to a point (10+ years) where people who die just don't turn anymore and the entire infection was actually just some biblical stuff to cleanse the earth from all the human scum.

Like Hershel said in the show. "Mankind's been fighting plagues from the start. We get our behinds kicked for a while then we bounce back. It's nature correcting itself, restoring some balance."

Also, the comics still have like 170ish issues left (according to Kirkman) so we don't know how it all turns out at the end.

Well it dosnt change much really; except what people do when dealing with the dead. People dont jut turn randomly.

Besides its not like people choose how the virus works they just have to deal with it. If it was real life I'd be thankful it wasnt airborne that turned you and that the zombies just walk not run

It's intentional by Robert K, It's *meant *to remove all hope of things being the same as they were.

...What? So... Lee, Doug, Carley, Katjaa, Duck, Mark, Ben, Omid, were all human scum because they happened to not survive?

That's a really stupid idea you've got yourself there.

  • It doesn't make them scum if they can't survive forever. They did last a long time.

  • people can adapt to new situations. If they ever came as far as to rebuild civilization, they would surely find ways to deal with this new rule in life. If only just by adding the rule that one must immediately stab a dead person's head with a knife/shot them in the head upon death.

''biblical stuff to cleanse the earth from all the human scum.''

That's what he said. Church and much of that religious stuff, as well as some philosophers refer to human race as ''scum''. That's what he meant in Biblical (Old Testament) sense. Although looking at it the way that Nature is God, TWD is just a ''population control'' that Nature conducts from time to time. The Spanish Flu (1918), Black Death (1348-1350) are just population controls conducted by Nature. Nature views humans as just another species which must be controlled.
