What Change in gameplay would Like?

edited February 2014 in The Walking Dead

In walking dead is any changes in gameplay you would like or any gameplay feel needs improving
For me like decisions having bigger effect on direction of story or slightly different decisions having more effect like could saved lee if took walkie talkie away from clem or never went near bin

Could of saved everyone if just shot ben in head moment you saw him

Saved katja by shooting duck first and saved kenny but if made bad decisions everyone ends up dead in the end

Just few stealth missions or crossbow small section(swear not 12 year old cod player) more like last of us but 95% story just small section with exploration

But saying that love the story maybe second playthrough let you chose different decisions when know outcome be fun

Anyway Gameplay improvements or what feel needs to be improved

Thanks for all serious answers to my question warning don't feed trolls

  • I'd make the fucking cursor icon invisible when not in use. #Annoying

  • The games in Telltale come out like this because they are mostly about story and not about gameplay so they are supposed to come out as a tv series would. Also this gives them time between episodes to change the story line and make the game greater. I like it this way. SOme changes I noticed are that Glenn was supposed to be in episode 2 of the game, Ben was supposed to not be such a mess, Lilly was supposed to reappear at some point in season 1 and Kenny was supposd to have a real obvious death and not one so ambiguous as this.

  • Can't think of many gameplay changes. Slightly longer episodes than the last one would be nice, I mean come on Tell Tale, you don't have to go Fallout 3 on us but 90 minutes is a bit short, especially compared to last season, when you play them back you can see how much longer they are.

  • Also feel free to answer the question

  • I don't want all of my dialog to lead to the same type of response, and I want to be able to stay silent whenever I see fit. Also, I would like episodes to be longer than 1.5 hours. I second everything you said, but maybe not quite as drastic in the choice department. Telltale already takes long enough to release episodes with a very limited number of meaningful choices.

  • Have season two retain the season one reticle and interface. I also loved having dialogue choices sandwiched on top of each other in season one. Not a big fan of the way the choices are laid out in S2.

  • They were awkward and clunky in Season One. Using a mouse cursor is far more streamline and easy to use. Don't know how anyone can possibly prefer the old one.

The choices don't need "bigger impact", they already do.

What you are suggesting is that the game should change based on decisions, that the entire story should be twisted to fit choices. That is the issue; your choices don't change the story, hence why they stated it at the very beginning:

This game series adapts to the choices you make. The story is tailored by how you play.

Let's say the game is you being the main character, and the objective is to get to the top of a mountain. The story is everything between that summit and you. You can choose to climb it however you want, but at the end you reach the same peak, you simply got there differently. The same with the Walking Dead: You reach the same destination, but you get there in different ways.

When The Wolf Among us came out, there was a noticeable change in how Telltale's games progressed; for one, they took away those moments where you can decide where you want to go/who you want to visit and chat with. They seem to be doing the same thing with The Walking Dead Season 2, and while I understand in the apocalypse you're not gonna be able to go wherever you want whenever you want, I miss being able to chat with that character I liked before deciding to progress the story.

That's why change it just an opinion when really think about it I liked how story turned out so keep that particular season the exact same just hurts knowing can never save lee or kenny or Katjaa(played whole season again to try save her) all my points are simply personal not stating anyone elses wrong talking for future season not one passed

  • Depending on how long this series plays out and how successful it is, choices may have more change to the story.
