My Planned TWD Fanfic
So I've decided to write a crossover fan fiction which I intend to publish on fanfiction.net. It will be a crossover between the Walking Dead game and the Assassin's Creed game series.
The details are a bit sketchy, but here's my idea:
Months into the apocalypse, the group of ten survivors struggles to survive, but salvation comes when they encounter the Assassins; a group dedicated to protecting humanity's freedom. They are taken to Europe, where the Assassin's have begun to rebuild society. Soon, the group will have to pick a side in the 80,000 year old war between Assassins and Templars.
The story will take place mostly in Italy but will branch out to Germany and England, and maybe outside Europe.
Instead of encountering the St Johns, the group will simply continue as normal until the Assassins find them.
The fanfic will be posted on fanfiction.net and will conclude both the Walking Dead and Assassin's Creed stories.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Nothing personal...but that´s fucking stupid:D
What's wrong with it? Just the idea?
Crossovers such as these almost never work, because the series are just too different and won't really match. It's like crossing Final Fantasy with Resident Evil.
You will have to be a veeeery skilled author to pull this one off without the readers thinking this was just a bad joke.
I can see your point, and thanks for pointing this out. Maybe I should develope my skill some more before trying something like this, but I'd still like to go through with it. I'm hoping that if things don't go well with my current plans, I might be able to turn to writing. I'm a big reader and I've enjoyed the idea of making my own stories. My aim with this fanfic was to put the survivors in a situation that was more than just surviving. They're lives were ruined by the apocalypse and I'd think they'd do whatever they had to to get their revenge. I wanted to see what their emotional limits would be in a war between the Assassins and Templars.
I see, bear in mind, though, that getting people to read your fanfic is hard. Especially so if it is a crossover. People who won't know both series won't bother to check it out, thinking they wouldn't understand what it even is about. Also, you will have to evaluate if people would still read it, even if they knew both series. For your example, people who play and watch TWD do it because they like the survival aspect as well as the post apocalyptic atmosphere. People who like assassin's creed tend to love the lore around the assassins and the conspiracy with the templars. You will have to combine these aspects together to satisfy both fanbases. If you take away the survival aspect from TWD, people won't feel like they are still in the TWD universe.
In my opinion. a possible way to create an assassin's creed X TWD crossover could be this setting:
A survivor group (of either known or unknown characters) run into an assassin (I stopped playing Assassin's Creed after Brotherhood, so I am not sure if there are any known assassins in today's era. If there are, you could use them, or simply make one up).
Since the assassin turns out to be skillful in dealing with the walkers, the group initially offers him a place in their group, however, as time passes by, his mysterious character starts to make them suspicious of him. What are his secrets? What is he hiding?
On the other hand, the assassin has lost contact with his brothers and sisters. He figures that he, even though he is an assassin, can't deal with the walkers all by himself and decides to join them, yet tells them nothing except his name. While they travel together he keeps trying to contact his brotherhood all while trying to figure out why the walkers started to appear in the first place. Was it coincidence? Or did the templars have a play in it? Could someone of his group be in contact with them? He will have to investigate and, if necessary save his group of possible traitors. But will they even understand his actions or will they see HIM as the traitor and cast him out instead?
I think this way you can both, tell a survival story, all while uncovering the secrets of the templars and the individual group members. Just my two cents, though. Good luck with your fanfic.
I was actually hoping the OP would have this idea for their fan-fic, it's basically the only way to make this specific cross-over work, while still retaining the essence of both games.
