Clem has grown up a lot since the time gap. A little More cynical and jaded but still retaining the positive influences from Lee. Without Lee she probably would have died in the treehouse (As OzzyUK pointed out) and even had she met another person who helped her I doubt that they could have the same father figure type impact which Lee had.
Ultimately it was her parents who helped shape her and instill core values while Lee was there at the right place and right time to positively influence her even further before he died. Now she's realized that she has to figure out a lot of things on her own. She's exceptionally smart and mentally tough so i'm not worried so much about what she will end up to be versus what others may do to her. But still I miss the Season 1 Clem although it will be very interesting to see how her character further develops as we move forward.
Yeah I think Christa has rubbed off a lot on her. And after what happened with Omid, and perhaps also the events in the time gap, not just her but also Christa changed. Their relationship is quite different now.

bah. atleast she reacted quickly to a threat at the first signs. hiding and getting by in her treehouse for days is quite impressive given all the shit that went down in her friggen drive way. she handled things better from the get-go than carlos seems to think sarah would. we'll have to wait and see how true that turns out to be.

I miss the light-hearted Clem. I hope there's some interaction with Sarah in episode two where bits of the old Clem break through. Maybe have them share a laugh at book they both read or something. Obviously not anything extensive, just something similar to the bug on the pillow line in passing.
If it was Sarah, I doubt whether she would have lasted five minutes compared to Clem. Sarah is too sheltered and Carlos has to realize that she has to grow up sometime.

You are right about using her surroundings and all that. Instead of just freezing up l… moreike she used to do, she uses things to her advantage and has lost some of her fear that she had. I'm really proud of how far Clem has come.
